it seems like a real :grouphug: kind of day today.
Anacasta - I've PM'd you, give me a yell if you need to talk, k?
Not O/S today - working all day after being woken at 4 listening to a policeman out in the back garden because someone had tried to break into my downstairs neighbour's flat. All a bit disturbing really and I just want to finish work and get home now...
Chocolate brownies are still going down a treat... I may need to get another bun tray somewhere (CHEAP!!) and make an uber batch next time... once I've checked they defrost ok anyway!Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...0 -
Hugs to everyone who needs them
I haven't had time to read or post much lately - days are filled with temp job in the morning and watching cycling in the afternoon! Still, the cycling finishes at the weekend (and I will be in Paris to see it!!) and the money is stacking up nicely from the temp job, so I'm thinking about treating myself to a bread maker....
Next week should be more normal, with time to be OS again. Meanwhile the courgettes STILL keep ripening...0 -
I also send hugs to all that need them, it seems as though last night was pretty rotten for lots of people. I simply couldnt sleep for no apparent reason, then the alarm went off at 7.30 for my first day in work, and I didnt know what was going on... The cat meowed loudly at me too - either telling me to turn that damn alarm clock off, or feed her, I cant decide which.
Work was exceptionally boring, I couldnt wait to get out of there. Have an interview tomorrow though, so hopefully ill get a permenant job that I can actually use my brain in. I often get bored very easily in work if im not being challenged in any kind of way. The temp job doesnt seem to require even a single cell. Oh well, lots of emails when I got home from other potential employers wanting to telephone interview me, so I dont think the land of permenant interesting work is far away.
I made a list of other potential houses last night, and the boyf didnt call a single one, so he is in for a bit of an ear-bending tonight! He doesnt seem to realise that this MUST be done as a matter of urgency, and has so far sat on his bum and done nothing all day. I however, have worked, have to make dinner, have to do a telephone interview, go to the laundrette, prepare for interview tomorrow and write that stupid personal statement that I still havent got round to doing yet. In other words, a nightmare.
Oh well, im off. Im going to do everything in manic fashion and hope that I get time to watch BB - Kemal's paranoia is getting quite fun...

Hello all,
Sounds like some people have had quite a lousy day - let's hope tomorrow is better (it usually is!)
Had meeting with First Born's teacher - she was lovely and it did put my mind at rest a little. On the Family bit of MSE there are lots of proud moms (quite rightly) reporting their kids SATS results, is mine the only one not to do so well? Still, you can't get too wound up when they are only six year old! (even Harry Potter didn't pass all of his OWLS)
Had the loveliest supper tonight - I got some Duchy of Cornwall organic sausages at a really reduced price in Waitrose a while ago, put them in the freezer and forgot all about them. We had them to night, with mash and gravy. OMG, I had forgotten how good good sausages taste. YUM.
Have agood evening everyone,

I've got a day off today. Children all out for the day today so I'm going to have a good clean, plan the next 2 weeks meals, re-work the budget, list some books on Amazon and then read my book.
First I'm going to have some more coffee as I got up at 3am!!
