  • Well I finally packed DH off in his lorry today but he's not a happy bunny. He was off for a funeral on Friday and took yesterday off because I told him he was due at the hospital for his eyes to be photographed, only trouble was I mucked the dates up and it's actually next month  He couldn't have got them done anyway as he's now got a cyst on one.
While he was having a long weekend he decided (in his infinate wisdom) that the older three children should be doing more jobs around the house as I'm struggling more to walk and they will get pocket money for them. So he drew up a list of jobs and their "price". I can't turn around today without someone offering to make me coffee

The breadmaker hasn't been on for a while as theres no packed lunches to do but that easiyo is on every other night and the children seem to love it. Oh well, back to sending emails to people who bought DH's models off ebay, we managed to sell over £700 worth this week so thats our holiday and servicing the caravan paid for. Two weeks of visiting my family and then driving back up to Scotland in time for the Edinburgh Truckfest, don't know what we are doing for the last few days, we might end up just spotting a caravan site sign somewhere and stopping there. We've had a good few holidays over the years doing the unplanned tour type thing. It's great fun to say to the kids "OK which way do you want to go" and just driving til you see something you fancy stopping for.

    Hello everyone!!
Well after my hectic couple of weeks I am now returning to a more OS life!!
I've made 2 malt loaves and my Mum's birthday cake in the last 48 hours. Puffed out chest time and dear husband was sorting out the breadmaker as I left for work. We took advantage of the 10% day at Homebase at the weekend and got all our paint plus a lovely double hanging basket stand for my Mum's present which was half price. I've just been given a load of redcurrants by my friend from her garden as she doesn't use them. Neither do I yet but in true OS fashion where there's a will there's a way!! I've stuck them in the freezer until I decide what to do with them. Have found a recipe for fruit fool which looks quite promising. The small person was given a 2nd hand cookery book last night- having had a quick flick through there look to be some good new recipes in there. Finally, husband informs me that he's "potter"ing off to Tesco this lunchtime to buy the new HP book at their bargain price of £7.97. The only drawback is that I shall have to wait for him to finish it first- I can feel a lot of heavy hints about speed reading coming on!!
    Regards
    Aril :D

    :grouphug: to all!

I managed to finish the handwashing yesterday only for there to be another pile of it today! I also managed to make 2 1lb loaves (1 is in the freezer) from half bread and half plain flour. Much cheaper and tastier than going to Asda for smartprice bread  I even stretched myself to making flapjacks but they were eaten within about 15 minutes of OH coming in so in a way that was a waste of time!

Last night I did a bit of gardening (de-sideshooting the tomatos which are still growing) and while I was out there I cut my mint right back to about 6inches high as it was huge and also cut my lavender bush back. I then spent what felt like an hour picking the mint leaves off to dry and putting those ones that had caterpillars in them (some were starting to spin cocoons) to one side to put back outside. I bunched up the lavender and made some paper bags so they are now hanging in the airing cupboard drying out ready to make stuff.

So far today I've posted a parcel (book on cake decorating, almost new as I've only looked through it, sold on ebay for £5 :T), done a load of dishes and did a whip round putting stuff away in their proper (or semi-permiant) homes. I also rotated DD's toys so she now has her dolls out instead of a shop and 2 trainsets. After a very OS lunch (homemade bread with homemade jam ) I'm off to put DD up for a nap/play/reading rest (she can either play quietly, read her books in bed or have a sleep depending on how she is feeling) for about an hour after Boogie Beebies finishes then I'm going to tackle the ironing while watching TV or I might even attempt putting the dye on my hair. I really don't want to put it off until tonight as I want to sit and watch the CSI season finale on 5 tonight without moving. Whether that happens or not is another matter :rotfl:

Evening meal tonight Lamb casserole from the freezer  Cup of coffee here I come...

  • Hi Nicki - do you have any ebay tips to add to the ebay thread that's on the go? I covered some stuff but you sell different things to me, so you will know lots that I don't

hello. hugs to everyone who needs them and hugs to everyone else too :D

I am back on the OS wagon after yet another few days of having fallen off. At elast I keep getting back up and trying again! I had amy parents staying over the weekend and we did a lot of charity shop perusing - my mum loves pretty china and is always on the look out. I got a couple of books which had been on my 'wish list' and would have bought new - so saved myself a few pouns - one of them is in fab condition too.

Apprentice tycoon's comments on selling on ebay and amazon have me very interested so plan to clear out the book shelves which are heaving as well as a couple of cupboards to see if I can get rid of anything. lets makesome money!

apart from that I have managed to invite myself over to a friends for left overs tonight before we tackle the pub quiz.

Then home to tackle the huge pile of washing :(

I can't promise that all my replies will illicit this response :p
  • Ancasta - I've been reading your posts with interest, and thought it was really nice that you were being so thoughtful BEFORE you actually started trying for a jnr ancasta. Sorry I'm getting personal, but is it a "final" breakup?

You're young still, (5 years younger than me, and I still sometimes think I'm too young and irresponsible to handle a baby!) remember that you have lots of time to have babies ahead of you. If you apply all your talent for MS-ing and Old Style, you'll be able to have your own house in no time, I'm sure. Take care and good luck.

Ancasta, I don't want to be personal, either, but I hope you can sense some silver lining (if that isn't too trite a cliche) in your current situation, as breaking up this side of having a child together is going to leave you a lot more free to get on with your life and make plans for yourself for the future, and not implicate a youngster in the situation.
