Good morning all from a much cooler Taunton.
I feel dreadful this morning as I have hardly slept. OH Steve always goes up to Bristol for a few drinks with his best mate on a Monday night and then catches the last train home. He had a little too much last night, depressed because we had to cancel our lovely all inclusive holiday, and managed to miss the last train. He called me at about 1 am to say he was on his way to the bus station - during the call there were suddenly loud voices and sounds of punches being thrown - I was on the phone to Steve while a gang of four men were beating him up! He had to hang up but called me back 10 mins later to say he was okay - just a few punches to the head but felt okay - sobered him up quickly!
I stayed on the phone with him for 40 minutes until his dad arrived and drove him back to his house. He stayed there overnight and is on his way to work now. I was incredibly shaken to hear this all going on during our call but am very glad he is safe.
Anyway - nothing OS for me today apart from work and then making spag bol, one of OH's favourites, tonight for tea
Stay safe all.Kirsty, Taunton, xxx0 -
Morning all
Absolutely no intention of doing anything OS today, split up with OH lastnight and i deserve a take away and a big bottle of wine so i will be indulging. The only man in my life at the minute is Harry Potter.
Attacked the front garden lastnight but had to stop as the bin got so full. Going to have another go tonight now the bin will have been emptied. Had to leave a little note on the bin saying thanks for emptying the garden rubbish sweetly as im meant to put it in the garden bin but i cant because im growing potatoes in my bin. silly me.
There was a funny smell in the kitchen yesterday when i got in and i couldnt find out what it was, washed the fridge, checked all nooks and crannies and cupboards so i was a bit confuddled. The smell was starting to waft into the living room once the door was opened. During my pursuit to rid the room of stink i knocked over some curry powder and in the 10 mins it took me to get the vaccuum (i got sidetracked by MSE) the stink had gone and was replaced by the lovley delicate aroma of curry. its was yummy. I left the powder overnight and hoovered this morning and the stink has gone and left the tinies faintest smell of curry. its yummy.
Well im off to look busy at work but will be checking back in a wee while

Hello all
Well, I'll try this post again as pc threw a wobbly as I posted my last one!
Ancasta - (((hugs))) it's a horrible time, splitting up, whatever the reason and whoever is at fault (if at all) Been there, got the t-shirt, I'm afraid.
SP - hope your OH is OK. Lots of TLC tonight, I'm sure.
Well, as for me, just the one black eye (read yesterday's post) Lots of carefully applied slap and I'll be ready to face the world later. I have DS2 all day today as his pre-school has closed for the summer, but luckily, I have next door's 9yo here today, who is doing a sterling job as an entertainer. We were going to go for a walk to see a new foal up the road, but it keeps raining. We'll have to satisfy ourselves with a trip to the big aquarium shop to replace DS2's fish...erm, get them back from their hols. 9yo has just got an aquarium so he's into all that too.
Will be doing chicken in the slow cooker for tea and have promised all the boys a rhubarb and strawberry crumble for tea. Other than that, lots of laundry to do and general cleaning etc.
Hope everyone has a good one.

Yes, it has all got a bit emotional higher up this page - chin up to all concerned, things will look better tomorrow.
Son is home from Uni (and rowing) today so I'm bracing myself for an attack of locusts, that boy can EAT and MAKE LAUNDRY, and he is here for 6 weeks doing just that.0
