I'm so sorry for you! It will take a bit of time but it will get better. (I'm speaking from experience).
Don't worry about your parents. They will probably be too busy making sure you are ok to think about your ex OH.

I am so sorry to hear your news.

Even your parents did love your OH - you are their daughter and I am sure that they will support you rather than him.

  • Blimey that's a bad night/morning all round!

Youngest decided last night was not a night for sleep and she cried all night long. We think it's her first tooth coming through, but that doesn't make up for lost sleep! Eldest is at a teddy bear's picnic with playgroup this morning, so at least I only have to cope with her - plus the session is a free one, so all the better!

Made oatmeal and raisin cookies last night, and am planning lentil bolognese for tea tonight, so I'm getting there.

    SOOOO tired though.

Hugs for those of you who definitely deserve them. Bottle of wine and a book - whatever your taste ;) - sounds like a solution to all my problems too!

  • :grouphug: to anyone having a bad time today.
I'm having quite a lazy one today but I have managed to strip two beds and they will be ready to hang out in a min (so if it starts to rain soon I apologise), there is a loaf nearly ready to get out of the breadmaker and my crumble slices have just pinged - yum! Hoovering and cleaning the bathroom later.

    Hi everyone

I'm having to put up with a horrible summer flu/cold - no idea where this one came from. Had tickly inner ears and sore throat, achy all over... still got sore throat & aches, and have been sleeping like a baby today. Better than going to work...no really, it is...we have "stroppy woman" problems at work. One girl has decided she doesn't need to speak to her other three departmental colleagues. It's an unbearable atmosphere - if you address her all you get in return is a grunt if you're lucky but more usually it's the back of her head and silence. I am new but went to a director and quietly complained as this is a horrible way to be welcomed to a new job. As she's doing this to three people, not just me, I thought it'd be more appropriate for management to deal with it rather than me. Seems she has a long history of this behaviour and it's her "personality" so they aren't sure what can be done about it. I did point out that she is otherwise told how to behave, eg when to show up/go home, what kind of clothes to wear to work, how to do her work etc etc and that it is perfectly acceptable to tell staff how to behave. Apparently something is going to be done, just wish they'd hurry up and do it, this has been going on for about six weeks now.

Some of you out there have worse things to contend with right now. Ancasta, I am so sorry you and your partner have gone your separate ways. I truly know how horrible it is to say goodbye to someone so important especially when you don't want it to happen. You will get over it though, I promise.

SomersetPrincess..sorry to hear about your holiday. Don't be too upset about it, your OH had a bad experience last night but at least he is safe. And not going on your holiday this year means that you'll be shrinking your debts instead of growing them... And you can go next year debt free. I live in Ireland (north) - it's not such a bad place to go on holiday! Seems lots of people are into camping and caravanning these days - the campsites I've come across are v.well equipped with shower blocks, shops and so on - maybe a few days camping at the foot of the Mournes or somewhere would be a welcome break?

VickyA - good for you being so proactive and getting advice straight from the horse's mouth regards interview technique. It does take a while to get your first lucky break but it will come.

I think I will do a bit of feng shui today - nothing too strenuous, just a bit of sorting papers out and getting rid of things I don't need any more. My poor head feels like it is filled with lead today, so don't think I could finish anything more taxing than a bit of paperwork.

    Have a lovely day all.
