Our local primary needs 3 teachers - but Kent is a bit of a commute!!!!!
Had another busy day today with work so apart from 2 loads of washing nothing much else was achieved. The washing has only just gone out too as it came over all misty when the tide changed earlier and it really was quite damp and nasty. Suns shining merrily now tho so should get it dry.

Vicky, sorry you didn't get the job. I think your OH should take you out for a meal by way of consolation!0

Big hugs to everyone whose day hasn't been so good today.
I'm being very lazy and not at all OS at the moment - temp office job until 2pm, then home to watch the Tour de France on TV.
The garden is coming up trumps though. Lollo rosso lettuce, rocket and yellow courgettes are all producing abundantly, and two small tomatoes are almost ripe. Tonight's tea will be Tesco finest chicken pie - reduced to 55p, with new potatoes (I shall cook double and keep some for potato salad tomorrow) and courgettes from the garden, followed by rhubarb fool made with rhubarb from a colleague of DH. I LOVE SUMMER!0 -

Thanks Mrs MW and Squeaky,
I'll have to gently persuade him to delve deep into his pocket. Although I cooked supper tonight, he's now doing the washing up and I had about 3/4 of a bottle of red wine to myself!
Getting someone to give me interview lessons next week. This trying to get a teaching job is more difficult than trying to win the lottery.............Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Hi there OS'ers.
I can't believe some of you are up and on the internet before 6am! I'm definitely a night owl, as you can see.
Sorry some of you aren't feeling too good about today, I hope you all get some better news soon. (((Hug))) to all who need it.
I just wanted to let you know how I've been getting along with the OS ways.
Today Iwent to the library, which I had forgotten existed it has been so long since I used it. I requested a book specially last week and I got a call to tell me it was now in my local library waiting for me to collect. Whilst I was there I also picked up a new cookbook, so tonight I tested one of the recipes that looked appealing. It was fabulous and used up some fruit and veg from my organic delivery that I was wondering how to use up. (Lemon & garlic chicken & potatoes). There is plenty left for tomorrow's lunch, but I pity the poor chap I have a meeting with tomorrow afternoon (garlic overload!).
After the library I went to the market to buy some more fabric. Since I finished my uni course I have more spare time so I have started sewing again. I used to make loads of clothes but kids and work and study and housework, etc, etc got in the way so I stopped for years. last week I made a very simple skirt for work. It cost me £8.20 and is very similar to one I have from M&S which cost me £32! Today I bought some linen-style fabric for another skirt. £6.35 including zip and thread. I did buy a top in a sale as well which wasn't very OS as it still cost £22 but at least I didn't spend the £32 it was previously.
Oh, almost forgot, this evening I ate my first ever home-grown tomato and it was absolutely delicious!
Good night all.

Morning? It's nearly the middle of the day!
Got loads done already and am trying to get a bit more indexing done before the site has its regular Thursday morning slow down after the newsletter has gone out. After that I'll just potter about a bitHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Got to get kids to school, do a bit of paperwork then off to work for a FULL day, nanna and grandad picking kids up from school. We've managed to hire a VW camper for the weekend so going to pick it up at teatime - really excited!! We used to have a camper and had some fantastic holidays in it, but that was all BC (before children!!!) Don't know how we'll all cope in such a small space?
Washing is washing at the mo, will hang it out in my small window of opportunity between the school run and going to work. So not very OS but it's the best I can do today!0
