I have to tell you that I'm really pleased with my new breadmaker :) Made a white loaf, although put about 1/3rd wholemeal flour in. There's about a 1 inch crust left now. I also made a fruit loaf - yummeeeee :D About 1/3 rd of that's gone too. Even Mr TM is in agreement - it's far superior to our old one, (which will be car booted at an appropriate moment.) The bread is so much lighter and HM bread tastes just sooo much better.

I also picked up a mystery shopping job tonight, which coincidentally was near where I was going to buy my curtain material, so petrol money was paid for that trip :) And I saved £225 on my curtain material (by spending £225) For that I've got enough for the 3 windows in my bedroom and another lot for the huge dining room window, as well as decent lining material. Just got to make them now, but I think mum's going to help. She can't really manage any more, but she can teach me, as she's a fab seamstress.

Just got to put my MS job online now, while I drink my green tea (I'm really into this now)

    Nighty night all.

    OS = Old Style

I'm having a lazy one today - We were supposed to be going to Legoland but DD1 spent all of yesterday feeling icky with a 24 hour bug thing - bless her she really did feel rough. She just wouldn't have been upto wandering around legoland. Had already booked the day off school for both DD's tho so they are now snuggled in my bed watching a dvd and enjoying toast and tea...bed needs changing today anyway - I can't stand toast crumbs in bed!!

Got some curtains for DD2's room at a boot fair last weekend for £1, she loves animals and these are animal hospital ones, brand new. Not that she needed new curtains but for £1 they make a change, so will get the others down today, wash the window down and the net and get her all posh.

There's already a lasagne in the freezer that i'd made in advance thinking tonight would be a late one so no need to worry about tea, hubby made a loaf last night so that's lunch sorted. Think I will get up to date with the ironing while the girls languish in bed then get them to help me have a sort out for Ebay - am doing a boot fair next month but I'll keep a seperate box for the stuff I know I can sell for more on Ebay.

Managed to pick up some Tinkerbell suitcases yesterday in the Disney sale - reduced to £4.75 each from £12.99, will put them away for xmas, nice big bulky pressies always look better - especially when they are so cheap. DD2 broke her case last holiday and the zips going on the other one so practical pressies too!

    Have a good one all

  • Morning all! :hello:
Well rather overcast but still warm here today in Somerset. Having a great start to the day (sorry Ancasta!) as not only id it Friday but it is PAYDAY!!! :T :T

Have spent the first hour of my working day calling all the lenders etc who had pAyments bounce from my bank account this month and, using my sweetest voice, pay the overdue payments and set up new direct debits. Feeling fab now. OH and I are going to have a small treat of a takeaway pizza tonight - a bit expensive and unnecessary I know, but we have had a fjairly rubbish month.

Nothing much OS today as am at work as usual, but my Tesco online shop arrives today at 5 so will spend the first part of the evening putting meat etc into portion sized packs and freezing, sorting things out to put a casserole in the slow cooker over night, and planning meals for the month while OH is out with the boys.

So, have a fab day all and the weekend is so close I can almost smell it (or is that the cheese sslad sandwich in my lunchbag???)

It's an ebay photo day today, I want to get some of the stuff I brought home yesterday written up and ready to launch on sat and sun evenings (best time to sell I reckon, good for the overseas buyers). I said that I would report back on any great auction finds - well, there was an Art Deco Lazy Susan in walnut that I really liked, it was on a tray with a heap of old plates and a hideous 2 foot tall vase, I didn't look through the plates as there were so many and the table was jam packed so you can't make another stack of plates as you look at them one by one and it seems that no-one else did either

Anyway I got the whole lot for £2.00 (I did say that summer is a very quiet time auction-wise!) There were around 15 plates, 4 had to be thrown away because they were really bady stained and crazed but the rest are wonderful, the pattern is of exotic prehistoric looking birds in muted colours, it was registered on the 16 Nov 1878. There are still a couple of small chips here and there and some crazing so not perfect but I might just keep them, if we ever retire to a cottage in North Wales and have a battered old Welsh dresser they would be just perfect and I would regret letting them go (you can see that I've been daydreaming again...) so because I don't really need to get the money back for them and as they were an unexpected bonus I will put them away for a while to ponder the future, I can always sell them later but if I let them go, then that's that, I'll never find more like them.

Garden-wise, the cherries have come to an end but the autumn raspberries are just starting and I can see the strawberries will be finished with a couple more pickings.

The cats really enjoyed the b******* up chicken yesterday and no doubt will expect the same every day now

    Photo time....must go.....make me go - now! ;)

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Photogenic I've been Money Tipped!
Just remembered that I didn't water my plants last night (I remembered at 11pm when it was too dark) So I got up at 6.30am (did ask to get woken at 6 but OH forgot again! ) but got sidetracked by my ebay listing I had to post. Due to the printer throwing a wobbler again (printing rubbish all over 3 labels  ) and DD trying to pop every bubble on my huge roll of bubblewrap it kind of took longer than I planned! I've finally just been out and done it but forgot I had put toast in so I'm now sitting here eating cold toast (Yuk!) with my mums homemade strawberry jam  while I catch up here and then sort out more ebay stuff.

Today I need to look into how long it takes to dry out lavender. I need some pressies for DD's 4 teachers so I was thinking a lavendar bag with a small bottle of bubblebath and a thank you card in a little drawstring bag (bags made by hand of course ;)). I would have done something else but I completely forgot until I saw teacher pressies in the shops

Off to do ebay emails and search for instructions to make lavander bags quickly!

AT - GET OFF MSE RIGHT NOW AND GET THE PHOTOS DONE!!! :D

Morning all, last day of the work week for me and I'm delighted! I don't seem to have worked out how to sleep at all this week and I'm knackered... probably also something to do with having visitors every evening bar Wednesday (when I went out to the piccies to watch two films). It's lovely to have such an active social life, but I must remember that I need to rest occassionally too!

This evening is my fortnightly takeaway night (I know, expensive and unhealthy...) ordered before halfsix so that we can get the special meal deal, £11 and it feeds two of us for two meals each and much big brother on the TV. I am looking forward to it muchly.

The interview yesterday seemed to go quite well; if I get it I move off shifts and onto a longer, but easier and probably faster, commute. It'll be a while before I hear anything though so I'm going to try and not think about it.

This weekend I had had plans for some friends to come through, but they're not coming anymore so I think I'll use the time to gut the house, go to the library and catch up on my baking (how well do sponge cakes freeze? I've only one loaf tin and while I know THEY freeze very well, I wondered if I could reasonably do a viccy sponge at the same time for the freezer?). I think I might have a go at Nigella's choc chip muffins (http://www.itv.com/page.asp?partid=4029) as well (if I can find choc chips that are real chocolate but not extortionate)

everyone seems to be well planned for the day so far - long may it continue (apart from ancasta - you have my sympathy :) - lots of water, some more sleep and something with fat and salt in it later on and you'll be good as new :D )
Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...
