Hello all,
Mixed day today, can't complain too much because just broken up for seven lovely weeks of holiday, hooray, but came home and read First Born's report and it was not good. Infact, in maths it was terrible. The only thing that made us laugh was we tried to work out if he had come bottom of the class in maths or joint bottom of the class, and we couldn't convert the percentages into real numbers without quite a few attempts, so now we know where he gets it from! :rotfl: We are both teachers, and we really do want him to do well, so it was a disappointment but in the bigger scheme of things, it doesn't matter really.
One other thing, when I first read the acronyms on this board, the only thing I could think of for LOL was Leg of Lamb!
Enjoy Big Brother everyone. Every week I make my predictions and every week i get it wrong, so this week I say, Bye Bye Orlaith.
Enjoy your evenings.0 -

No - she didnt even make it into the house!! For those who dont know _ Vanessa got the boot in a fabulously evil eviction, many tears were shed. Ooohhh, I love it! At least one of the evil gossip queens got the boot anyway, it pleased me immensley.
Orlaith or Makosi next I think!

Morning everyone
Oooh, I felt really OS this morning. Just woken up to the smell of freshly cooked bread - first time I've used the timer on the new breadmaker. I'm drinking my green tea before brekkie - I'll let you know if I lose any weightHowever, lots of food/wine will be consumed today and tomorrow as guests arrive later.
Need to do Tesco run soon and finish sorting laundry/put more on. Other than that, I've instructed Mr TM that HE WILL do all the vacuuming, including moving furniture and getting attachment out to do the stairs properlyWell, I was up till nearly midnight, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens and dusting and tidying, whilst he was drinking wine and surfing.
Slowcooker will be going on later for huge joint of beef. Need to decide what to have for starters yet and I'd better iron the tablecloth - wipe down placcy ones may be great for kids, but don't have the same impact when entertaining childless friends.:)
Have a good day everyone

Good morning Tickle mouse.
Today so far: Couldn't sleep, so I've put a wash on and spent some time on mse.
Yesterday, (after reading many OS success stories) I bought some seeds. So later today, with help from ds2 (aged 5) we are planning on attempting growing some of our own salad stuff. Wish us luck.

Morning all - Isn't it typical - the one morning we could have a lie in and we're both wide awake at 6am!!
Was up late last night with DD1 who decided that she's not over her tummy bug yet (more washing!!!) and DD2 has just asked for a bucket as she's not feeling well either -- oh joy! DH has just nipped out to pick up the Harry Potter book for DD1 and she can hopefully spend a nice easy day in bed reading.
We were supposed to be going to a wedding reception this afternoon but no way on earth can we go now - again just typical seeing as we all got nice new outfits.....but never mind - at least I was good and made sure that all the new stuff can be worn for other things too (an ankle length chocolate brown skirt for me - nice and smart and this seasons colours - but can be worn with boots for the winter, the kids outfits will double up as xmas party dresses too).
I think today will just be a bit of a non OS - non anything day - got to get them better. Off to see a new house tomorrow - it's on a shared ownership deal and we've been waiting ages for something to come up in the right area - looks exactly what we've been after so fingers crossed!

:hello: Morning everyone :hello:
Well my Harry Potter book arrived this morning. I say mine because ds has never read any of them, he prefers watching the films. I have (and read) them all they're brilliant!!!
I have washing in, which sounds like it's now on it's last spin, so will get that hung out in a mo. I have the housework to do, before that must put a loaf going in the bread maker. Later i have chocolate chip cookies to make. Ds has a friend coming today who loves my cookies, so i always make sure i have a batch of freshly bake ones for when he comes.

My first post in Old Style days! :j Today I'm going to make some chickpea goo - sounds horrible, but it's a gorgeous spicy dip with turmeric, cumin and cayenne pepper (let me know if you'd like the recipe and I'll post it.) Also going to finally have a go at making tortillas and some everyday biscuits.
Think the rest of the day will be taken up reading the new Harry Potter - it's sitting on the table begging to be read!
