Congrats Squeaky!
Got woken up at 3.30am by some people in the street having a VERY verbal row. They were F-ing and the like for a good half-an-hour or so. The one night I decided to leave the windows open instead of just locked open  As you can imagine, this morning I am very tired.
DD is off nursery today (new kids induction day) so I've not got any solid plans today.
Our washing machine is definitely broke so spent last night searching online stores to try and get the best/cheapest deal. Originally I set us a £250 limit as OH has just got this amount back from his insurance company and its supposed to be going to pay off some of the credit card but a new washingmachine would have to be purchased on credit or our credit card if we don't use that money. Does that make sense? Anyway, it would seem that whenever I think "Ooo, that machine is a good one for the price!" I find that it hasn't got a function that I want (like half load or a wool/delicate wash). Too tired to be thinking about it today and my mind is swimming with information, even though I've written it all down in a notebook, so I'm going to leave it for today.
I can see trips to my mums/laundrette but I'm going to try washing as much as possible through by hand. Most stuff isn't really dirty, just smelly so doesn't need too muchBut I'm still going to get a machine as soon as possible - the laundrette is £2.50 for the small machine!
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Thanks all and hugs ancasta
As for my postal service I really wish it wasn't so good! He generally delivers at about 5:30 in the morning and every time he delivers something next door their dog goes absolutely nuts and wakes me up.
I understand there's a little nerve in their necks you can cut to stop their vocal chords... and if it doesn't work you just keep cutting until it does!
Some nights I might well not get to sleep until after 4am, so getting woken at five thirty is not the best joke I know.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. (((hugs))) ancasta
Mr TM often spends time away form home - either for work or for his hobbies, but then we've been together long enough fo rme to relish being on my own - in this weather especially. Cooler beds and no snoring
Today I'd like to get on and blitz all the bits I haven't managed to do yet. However, I have to do mystery shopping this afternoon, take kids to birthday party, take them to beavers and it's Mr TM's birthday so have to sort out tea for him too.:) I'm going to buy my breadmaker from Argos whilst in town. I could save £10 buying it on line, but it isn't in stock and I really want to make my strawberry jam before they go past it, so will save myself that anyway. (Justification is a great thing, isn't it)
Other than that, would like to chill out, but there aren't enough hours in the day today
PS it's taken me ages to type this post. DS2 keeps coming in and clicking the mouse whilst I type, so whole sentances disappear or I type in the middle of the previous para! It's a good job he doesn't know my password or he'd be online all the time. This morning I found he'd switched on the pc, opened up aol and was waiting for my password. Then he's off surfing the kids sites on his own! Been doing this since before his 3rd birthday!
Catch ya all later, if DS2 allows me back on here0 -
Good morning all from Taunton on another lovely, sunny day.
First things first - HUGE hugs for Ancaster - you poor thing, I know how you feel. OH and I h2ate being apart overnight so I dont know how I would cope if he was going to be away for 5 weeks - we are all here for you until he returns anyway! :grouphug:
Sqeaks - congrats on the cooker situation - very coo!l
As for me, not huge amounts OSing today. Just another day at work. Just got a call from OH though telling me he dijdnt have enough money to get the train to work! He usually buys a monthly ticket but only got a weekly one this time, as he is doing some interviewing at home and wont need to go into work as much. I wish I had known that and I would have saved some money for him to get in today. But, as he didnt tell me, he will have to work at home today- hmmm, what little jobs can I have him do while he is there? he he!
Not sure what is for tea yet tonight - I am paid on Friday and it can't come soon enough as we are starting to run out of yummy food - might giev the OH sausage and mash and have a WW (Weight Watchers) meal and some low fat noodles.
Still, going to have a picnic in the park with OH at lunchtime - one benefit to him being at home I guess!
Anyway love & hugs to all - especially AncasterKirsty, Taunton, xxx0 -
Thanks for all the huggles you lovley people!
im looking forward to sleeping with the air con on full blast AND sleeping like a starfish in our bed. I probably will enjoy being on my own, i can do what i like when i like for the first time since we moved in together... that means NO top Gear every night NO only fools nd horses every night NO fawlty towers every night and NO snoring/farting in bed.
In general UK Gold has been the bane of our relationship *laughing*

Hugs ancasta, I hate my other half being away, glad it doesn't happen very often, we're still here for you.:D
Well done squeaky, glad my postie gets here at 112.30, must take him that long to get from yours.:D
TM. my little one's a pain on the pc as well, just typed in my reply and she swithced to another page and lost it all.
Well I spent until 2 this morning fixing my PC, which thanks to those on the techie board, I managerd to get rid of all the viruses, and then was rudely woken at 6 by little angel. Still off to friends house for coffee this morning, so no housework till after lunch.
Somerset princess, you could always try what we had for tea, with our sausages. I got fed up with bangers and mash, so I made sweet & sour sausage and mushrooms with egg fried rice, oddly enough it was really tasty, and cheaper than using chicken or pork.;)
Well I have to go and throw a beef surprise in the slow cooker and entertain the little noodle.
Won't be about for a couple of days as I spilt my tea on the keyboard as well yesterday and have to return this keyboard back to my friends husband today, so I shall be reading but not replying. My fingers are twitching already, is there a cure for oldstyle??bye everyone. sob sob

While you've still got a keyboard I'm sure I've seen on screen keyboards where you can click on each letter with the mouse. Slow and tedious I know, but better than nowt. So maybe you try googling and see what you can get.
Edit: I knew I'd seen it somewhere. On my windows XP in the helpfile, choose Accessibility and then the "help with mobility problems" and there's a link to switch on your very own on screen keyboard. HTH
Edit #2 Even easier:
To open On-Screen Keyboard, click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to Accessibility, and then click On-Screen KeyboardHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Hi Foreverskint - thanks for the recipe idea! While to me it sounds divine- darling OH is a stricly meat and 2 veg kind of guy - nothing very "foreign", nothing spicy, nothing with rice, JUST about eats pasta - but would be happy with a casserole or something with Smash EVERY night of the week. SIGH
Ah well, at least I know what he likes I guess he he!Kirsty, Taunton, xxx0 -
my dear OH was like that when we first met. He had never had a chinese takeaway, never had a proper indian or been to an italian/chinese/indian restaurant.
Ive weaned him onto so many different kinds of food its amazing. He still only has one thing at the chinese though!!
His mam cooks alot of "proper english grub" like stews and broths and meat/veg combo's but even she loves chinese take aways now.
Maybe im a bad influence... he was a 30" waist when we got together... now hes a 38. ooops.... i blame the beer and the job. He sits down all day where as he used to be a student and barman always on the go...
Ive made him fat like me. heh.0 -
Morning all
Trying to brace myself for what lies ahead. Went for my 6 monthly post cancer checkup expecting to be making an appointment for my breast reconstruction and instead got told I now have a lump in the other one which is the size of a bar of soap.
Had to have a fine needle aspiration there and then and loads more tests over the next couple of weeks.
Trying to keep on track but have lost the impetus to do anything today, someone give me a swift kick?Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
