Hi Giggelbox, welcome to the Ol'Style board, look forward to getting to know you.
A quick warning about Ticklemouses (or should that be Ticklemice)paddlepool. It may look innocent enough but I've heard it's nothing more than an inflatable vinegar storage tank. A condiment well known for its cleaning properties in these ere parts. 20 mins sitting in there sipping an Ol'Style cocktail which is just a posh way of saying a cup of tea with a brolli in it and you come out missing two moles and half a dozen freckles. I can remember the days when TM had a tattoo of a dead dog on one arm and a recipe for lemon merringue pie on the other:eek: , nowadays her skin is unblemished English Rose fair:D

Hi Gigglebox and welcome!
Done not very much today. Been getting prepared for my interview tomorrow.......... Other than that, I've ironed one shirt and made cups of tea. Hmmmm, hopefully tomorrow afternoon when I get back from my interview I will either a) be able to crack open a bottle of plonk in celebration b) wait nervously for the phone to ring or c) do the ironing that I haven't done in comiseration!
We're having a lamb "cocido" tonight. It's a recipe that I got from a Good Food magazine ages ago, but have never actually had a go at yet. If it's any good, I'll post the recipe on here.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

Not forgetting to use the links for Kelkoo and Pricerunner in the blue bar at the top of the page...?
Yep Squeaky I've done that. I did a search and I've worked through all the threads. We've just got back from checking out Comet / Powerhouse / Currys but Comet were the best. I'm also checking out the cometclearance website. I'm not keen on the idea of buying such and expensive item from ebay but I'm going to keep looking elsewhere. I could really do with going into town to the 2 local Index stores since they are closing in the next two weeks, we'll have to see what happens.
oh well, I'm off to serve up the reheated Lasagne I made last night :drool:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Nicki, we got our washing machine from the John Lewis website. Free delivery (as opposed to Powerhouse that was going to charge £40!) and a decent machine for £259. Not bad, I thought.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0

gigglebox - when you're ready you might want to put your name in the 'getting to know you thread' at the top of the first page....most of the regulars have put a few words there so you can see what you are dealing with0

Hello everyone! It's a public holiday here in N.Ireland today and another one tomorrow - it's like an extra weekend.
Got up early this morning, about 5.30 am - this is normal, I suffer from sleeplessness - and downloaded and installed a new virus checker. I know, I was bored...
Then emptied the dishwasher, petted & fed the cats, made breakfast - came over all tired and grabbed another couple of hours snooze. On rising went for a walk in a gorgeous forest park near me, but boy was it hot in the bits that weren't shielded by trees... walked a couple of miles but I was so uncomfortable.
Went to local shop and en route called into the recycling centre with cardboard boxes, tin cans etc etc.
On getting home hacked down the rainforest that was growing in my back garden. Rewarded myself with a lovely late lunch of new potatoes, smoked haddock and asparagus...yum! Oh and an Orange flavoured Solero ice lolly.
This evening I am going to do some household filing and chucking out of papers - I am drowning in them. My bedroom was getting difficult to walk around because of paperwork, I must get it up to date and be ruthless with stuff I don't need.
Another lovely day off tomorrow...what bliss...0
