LOL Am I the only one not moaning about the heat? They were all complaining up at school about how hot and sticky it was. A few weeks earlier the same were complaining that the summer so far had been !!!!!! and before that made mention of what a dark, cold misserable winter we were having:rotfl: I'd be quite happy if it stayed like this until the end of Sept. Anyone else agree?

If anyone is interested for dindins tonight we're having prawns in a rose marie sauce, tossed salad and crusty bread with mince meat turnover left from yesterday and icecream.

I'm a lizard. I start thinking that it's really beginning to get a bit warm at around 40C :)

Back in the old days as we went through the Panama Canal a bunch of us were playing deck hockey on the flight deck. It was a hundred and twenty in the shade with ninety five percent humidity. They were dropping like flies! Talk about "Last Man Standing!" :)

I am moaning about the heat too - bloody awful sun. And no - if it lasted till september, ill emigrate to iceland or somewhere.... lol

Anyway, boyf forced ME to have an industrius day today, went and bought a printer cartridge, went to sainsburys and got BOGOF's and used some vouchers (£9.85 discount on shopping thank you very much sir!!), so the total was £36.26, but £9.46 of that was some extra special bitters for the boyf, he felt he deserved a treat. We have done him a CV from scratch, which turned out to be better than mine so I had to edit mine too, and am applying for jobs all over the place again for the both of us. Lots of envelopes on the desk ready for stamping and posting, but im feeling a little exhausted, so might go and have a sit down for a while. ;)

My mail arrived at 5.05pm today, and im actually appalled at that, so im about to email Royal Mail to complain, as this is LATE, its usually way earlier, but has been getting later and more sporadic, so Im thinking that things are going missing in the post, which is immensley frustrating, as I simply refuse to believe that 7 individual bits of mail simply were not sent by the sender.

Oh, and get this - I had a VANQUIS credit card application form through today!!! I dont believe it!! I wonder who sold my address.... grrrrr....

Anyway, I have decided to go make a bakewell tart - I have the ingredients and its my favourite dessert, so watch me get fat today!

Enjoy whats rest of the weather to those who love it, enjoy hiding indoors to those who dont! :D

Have a "virtual chicken burger" on me.:j

They turned out really well and were quick to make as I had been out in York all day.

Served with home made bread and salad - I felt quite domestic.

Day only spoilt buy the fact that my ironing pile is taller than me and refuses to iron itself - I have introduced the laundry to the iron and vice versa but nothing happens. My laundry is !!!!!! sob!

Either that or I am a lazy slob - I insist that it is too hot to iron right now so there!

Well, it topped 31deg here this afternoon :) However, as a fair English Rose, I holed up in my mum's house most of the day (aka cleaning it) Had to venture out today to buy Mr TM's pressie from mum. He wanted a real Panama hat in a tube, so that's what he's getting. (FIFTY+ QUID on a hat? ***ks sake !)

Had a quick trip round Tesco - only a small store and it doesn't do some of the things I want but I'm aiming to do a big shop tomorrow. We have friends coming for the weekend so want to sort out stuff in the attic/attic bedroom - mainly find the clock the MIL bought for DS1 for Xmas which was chucked in there a while ago due to annoying beep every hour - but we can still hear it!! Anyone want a football clock with annoying beep - free to good, well any home :D Car boot, here we come.

Monday night - 2 x Corrie, and Enterprise repeat. Need to make a shopping list too. Ah well, lots of ironing to do. At least the clouds have come over - it's gone really dark but I don't think we're going to get a thunder storm - few spits and spots but they've gone now.

Step 1. Open the back of the clock.

Step 2. Find the little bleeper.

Step 3. Wring its bleeping neck!

Next problem please! Problems solved while you wait! Come one come all don't be shy! Hoy! You at the back! Wot's your problem?

Nope. Did it in the microwave. I know that sponges and suet puds take 5:20 in mine, so I gave this 5:30 and then gave it a skewer test. Well soggy - so I gave it two more minutes, not quite there but one more did the trick :)

I'd put the beetroot into the Kenwood but it was getting minced but not pureed. So I thought to myself, self "You need some liquid with this or it's never gonna puree." And I thought back "Yeah... I know... tell you what, since I'm gonna be mixing this beetroot with the oil in the cake I might as well bung it in here and see what happens."

It worked a treat. So I put the eggs and vanilla in there too and gave the whole lot a quick whizz. Lovely purple goo to add to the dry ingredients! :)

I'm going to be taste testing it in about five minutes :)

OH has just had a phonecall from his parents who are currently camping in the south of France on their annual summer holiday. Apparently it stormy and 10 degrees :rotfl: They've also been without electricity  To quote McD's ads "I'm lovin' it!" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Currently packing up 2 items I have sold on ebay then I'm going for a bath & back down to watch Most Haunted on FTN :D
