Hi everyone..hoping I can join you all as a regular old styler as I have resigned myself to becoming a house frau and soon to be stay at home mum..(found it impossible to get a job after finishing uni as i'm 5 months pregnant!)
I have been reading this board for a while, and have taken on a lot of your ideas. I am really enjoying making up my own cleaning products, recycling everything I can possibly think of and trying out your wonderful recipes...
My morning today has been spent dealing with a nightmare of smelly washing that was stuck in the machine for a few days (hopefully soon to come out smelling of roses thanks to posters on here)
made my soon to be o/h pittas filled with left over roast veg cous cous and chicken with the harissa from the freebies board for work..and praying he didn't do the usual and eat them mid morning, then buy a breakfast baguette with all the trimmimgs for lunch..he hee
a huge bundle of unisex newborn clothes arrived, which my mum got on ebay for me for £6! so i'm having fun sorting through them all..and cooing a little..
Off to clean the windows now, though i must confess i will be using windolene as I just can't get vinegar to do the job
but I never said I was an old style purist after all..

oh..and to pennypincher, hope you get well soon..but that sounds like such a lovely day for your dd! hope she enjoys it

PP... my thoughts are with you while your away from us. We will all miss you dearly...

And a bloody big bravo to the charity to make your daughters day. I bet she felt all grown up and like britney with her VIP cab ride. It brought a little tear to my eye.

eyeopener/greenlogo - they are so easy aren't they?! I love them and the mixture freezes too, which is so handy.

Penny pincher - good luck in hospital. We'll be thinking of you.

    hello to everyone else

I'm am having to do an old style cleaning programme this evening, before my parents arrive tomorrow night to stay  The problem is the weather is so lovely I just want to be outside!

currently dying in the office from the heat - even the air conditioner isn't making an impression (it's portable and looks as if it was built in the 1950's :rotfl: )

Went to Tesco this morning and did the weekly shop. Got quite a bit of food for not very much money, however, the bargains on the yellow sticker shelf weren't really bargains and things that I wouldn't buy normally (unless they were considerably reduced) so nothing there.

Got back and made my lunch (yummy salad), OH came home for lunch too. We've eventually managed to sort out his mum's birthday present - she's getting some gorgeous flowers from a farm on the Isles of Scilly and because I'm a regular customer we're getting some free flowers too! Managed to sort out my (free) membership of a teaching union for a year as I will need cover even if I do supply work. Replied to a friend's wedding invitation - not until October and Travelodge don't have £26 rooms yet for October. Grrr.

Got an interview for a teaching job on Wednesday (they're providing me with a school dinner, haven't had one of those for YEARS), so I'm going to begin to prepare for it this afternoon. Gulp.

In between preparing for Weds and washing, I'm going to be ironing. What fun :rotfl:

Afraid I've got the OS blues today. I'm so fed up of having to count every last penny :-( Working in central London means that I'm surrounded by all sorts of temptations and everyone seems to have so much more money than me. Yes, I know that money isn't everything. And yes, I also realise that most people out shopping at lunchtime are running up huge debts that they will struggle to repay. But just for once I'd love to have enough money so that I can choose to buy yellow stickered items rather than having to buy them because it's all I can afford.

Anyone else ever feel like this?
