I've been very busy this morning, finally cleaned the outsides of the windows and wow, what a difference. Three loads of washing done, washed floors and bathed the dog. The house now stinks of wet dog, but all the windows are open and I'm off round with the lavender oil.
Enjoy the rest of the day.0 -
Had a really good sleep and it has done me good.
3 loads of washing on line.
One daughter is at birthday party and another daughter back from exchange visit to Paris - got back yesterday.
I would normally do chicken and potato salad as it is such a hot day but our intrepid traveller craves "proper English dinner" so we are having lemon and garlic chicken, potatoes in skins, cauliflower, beans, carrots and broccoli with home made huge yorkshire pudding and jelly and ice cream for afters."This site is addictive!"

Well I am feeling pretty low at the moment as have totally failed at being very old style over the last few days, even to the point of throwing away my home made yogurt as it went off! Also some home made bread for same reason
Normally I would have frozen any food surplus to requirements but difficult to do when totally exhausted. Still we got through the last difficult days and everybody ok, dd graduated, I learnt to drive an automatic in a hurry;) and our holiday is fast approaching :j so hopefully will get back to money saving when back and rested. Hope everybody else ok.Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

I don't have a recipe as such I just add ingredients as my fancy takes me! Once a month a make a humongas batch 50% of which I turn into meatloafs and the other half I roll into meatballs. This is what I add for a single batch enough to make 12 meatballs or one small loaf.
1lb mince beef
2 onions grated or finely chopped
Breadcrumbs (I measure by eye the same volume as mince)
2 Eggs Beaten
A good squirt of Tomato Puree
1 tbsp of mixed herbs
I chuck it all in the kenwood and give it a good mix together. I prefer to mave the mince really moshed up so I mix for a good while to get a good meaty texture when cooked. If it looks a bit dry I add a few spoons of thick made up gravy.
I then shape into balls with floured hands and bake at 220c on a greased sheet for 20-30 mins and serve with a goulash sauce or ragu and lots of pasta
or
With well floured hands shape into a brick shape (nothing to perfect). Sometimes I pat the outside with stuffing mix for a cruchy crust and bake for 1hr - 1hr15mins and serve as a roast or serve sliced on a bed of pasta with tomato sauce or sliced it cold and serve with salad and french bread. Thanks for the recipe Math. I shall try that this week.
I've had a good day today, had a stall at the caar boot and made £90.00, which means that I can now afford a cooker for our camping trip Yipee:j
My Oh also sold some of his hornby stuff on ebay which raised a further 120.00 so not a bad moneymaking weekend.
Mind you I wish I had looked at the forecast before this morning as I am now sporting a fetching beetroot face from sunburn.
Have managed to wash the sleeping bags and am starting the big pack up for our trip.0 -

Helloooo everyone i feel this is going to be an epic post....
Was up at 7am, did loads of washing and dragging out of the archived summer clothes.
Was into Newcastle for the shops opening at 11. Got loads of BOGOF bargains in Boots
and some stupidly cheap summer hair accessories from au naturale (they had been priced incorrectly so i got 10 items for £1)
Dashed over to asda and took advantage off all their whoops! items and cheap bread for the freezer... had to fork out £4 for a taxi home (i know its not OS but no other way of getting all the shopping home).
Had a nice splash about in the paddling pool on my own like an overgrown kiddy! Made chicken caesar wraps with whoops! items and some of OH's homegrown tatties! Made a big fruit salad from whoops! stuff too. Felt not in the slightest guitly about letting OH wash up.
Cut the grass, weeded the garden, read some of my book, caught a lovley tan and ive just finished pampering myself with all the bogof goodies i snaffled today.
Total spent today £38 which included (shampoo, conditioner, curl cream, curl spray, boots meal deal for lunch, puzzle book to stop me buying magazines, flip flops and a vest in asda and the shopping which came to £18)
Oh and a Mac eyeshadow for £9 but i needed cheering up cuz OH is going to london for 5 weeks and i needed a perk from my well earned pocket money lol.

Hello everyone
A busy day ... didn't have time to log onto MSE and OS this morning ....
Visited 2 car boot sales this morning. Got student daughter a whole load of kitchen bits and pieces for very little cash, then delivered it to her. In the week since we left her, her landlord has started decorating and cleared out all the junk left by the previous tennants. I now feel a lot happier about her ...
I also bought some fruit and veg at the car boot and got a beautiful 1941 hand powered Singer sewing machine for £10! OH is drooling over the engineering .. I'm drooling at the thought of making my own quilts, cushion covers etc (without having to plug into the mains!)
Have now rewarded myself with a nice glass of chilled white wine (not my own yet ... it's still fermenting) ... by the way, I also got a couple more demi-johns and the Good Food Christmas Recipe Book (50p).Enjoying an MSE OS life0
