    Morning!

Ive been awake since 8am this morning, no mean feat since I didnt get to bed till 3am as I was filling out job applications, but for some reason I just woke up without an alarm and feel good.

Been making some patches this morning for my patchwork quilt that I am attempting, all hand sewn, so even if it looks rubbish when its done, I simply wont care, as I made it all by myself. I dont intend to shop today, it simply seems like too much effort to leave the house, so I intend to just do a big clean, do some packing, and make dinner from whatever lurks in the freezer. I have loads of pizza dough in there so we may well have those again - Ive finally perfected the recipe and last nights were excellent, so im feeling very proud - another recipe in the recipe book for me!

Anyway, I feel another cup of tea coming on, have a lovely day all!

Morning all!! Here I am at work again at the end of my hectic week. The summer fete went off a treat- it rained a bit in the afternoon [lots of glum faces] by hurrah the sun came out just in time and it was positively balmy. My free pims was fab!! No bargains as I was stuck on the raffle all night and husband was hooking ducks. However, the small person invested our hard earned/saved cash in all sorts- balloons etc etc! Have got the washing out- it's cloudy but dry and then it's time to hit Tesco. Husband is meanwhile trying out a new bread recipe today in the BM aswell as fitting the new CD writer we got from ebuyer [no doubt ably "assisted" by the small person]
    Have a good one!

Morning all, I had a bit of a lie in this morning, didn't get up until 8.50 which was lovely. I finished the last of the plastering last night, got up this morning and scrubbed the utility room floor and windows, pva'd the floor to seal it and am waiting for it to dry so I can paint the floor.

Got a load of washing out to dry and am just about to get the uniforms in the wash and then upstairs to finish stripping the top staircase. Might try and squeeze in the last of the glossing too.

I'm afraid it's going to be a takeaway tonight as I can't get to the freezer again :( DH has two concerts to play this weekend so I'm all on my own again :(

    Good afternoon!

It made quite a change for me not to have to go out and get the shopping this morning, as those lovely people at Tesco delivered it for me yesterday. So I was able to empty the washing baskets and get all of the washing on the line. There are still towels to be washed, but I like to tumble dry those as they come out fluffier and softer.

Misterholic has gone out to play golf and now I'm wondering what to do next ...

    Good afternoon to you all!

Just want to share my little household disaster with you all. The OS used a hand towel from the bathroom to mop up spilled orange juice earlier during the week. He then dumped the towel in the washing basket, inside which was also my lovely white duvet cover.

I discovered the mouldy mess this morning ....... to cut a long-ish story short, I discovered that boiling the linens with washing powder and, the magic ingredient, a scoop of oxi-clean did the trick. Just a gentle boil for about an hour or so (be patient) and the hand towel was 98% back to original. Phew!

It's all in the washing machine now and I am keeping my fingers crossed that when it comes out, it will be nearly as good as it was before.

    Enjoy your weekend.

Managed to do 2 loads of washing this morning. First lot already dried and in the basket ready for ironing. Other load is drying nicely as we speak. Had a go at making pannetone this morning in the breadmaker. Am still mid-process. Will report back if it's a sucess later :D Am planing on doing Curry_Queens curry tonight with home made naan bread made in the breadmaker. This breadmaker is certainally getting used well!

P.S. Managed to sit on the garden seat where one of my lovely darlings had put a fresh raspberry on it. Hence a big raspberry stain on the back of my lovely brilliant white trousers. HELP-any tips?

P.P.S Used lemon rind in the pannetone. i now have a rind-less lemon to use up - suggestions please?

Simply squeeze the juice and freeze as ice cubes for later use, and use the wrung out shells to rub and scrub chopping boards with hot water.

Blackberry stain? In the MEGA Index under "Cleaning" in "clothes" :D

Lemon - juice it and freeze the juice. Use it any time you are making anything that needs it - like lemon merangue pie yum yum yum and I'm coming round to your house if you make one :)

Had a friend over for Saturday brunch this morning - great fun! Managed to do an OS shop at the supermarket last night and picked up lots of reduced goodies to serve this morning. Leftovers after this morning's decadence include a couple of spoons of double cream (paid 20p for the whole tub) and half a bottle of sparkling wine. Any thoughts on what to do with them? The wine's the main worry as I'm on my own and won't be able to drink it all up before it goes flat (I don't want to turn into an alcoholic!!!)
