Jo,
when you mean in town you mean Bath. Where is that as apart from the guildhall market I did not think anywhere in town did any needlecrafts. As the last shop shut down it was in argyle street that leads on to pultney bridge.
Many thanks in advance.

Not too much OS today in the Henhog household apart from making mashed potatoes with the oldest spuds ever! Have been on the phone again to Tesco about their new contact lens service -what a hassle. Forgot to mention my John Lewis bargain of Tuesday though, and am so proud of myself I am still going to mention it. I had some promotional stuff for Sisley face cream through with my John Lewis card (don't really use card except for Waitrose / J.Lewis shop to get the cash back and free mag - always pay it off!) that I hadn't used, I knew it was out of date but I thought I'd try it anyway. The nice lady told me the voucher expired in April - me, feigned shock, and "oh dear, I just don't get chance to shop for me now i've got the baby" (ha ha) and guess what - she gave me £15 worth of samples! Brilliant or what, and the face cream is lovely but at £50 a throw I won't be buying any more! (but if I suddenly won the lottery I would buy it - it is nice)

Evening guys...
Where has Queenie gone? She hasn't found a better board to go posting on has she? Nah, where is better than OS, definitely my home, I like it here.
Anyway, totally un OS today, except for the discount and freeebies I got at the choccy raisin stall! oh and my usual packed lunch.
Just reading your posts about all the cleaning and running around you do has worn me out! So now I think I will have a shower, dry my hair a bit and go to bed!
Bit sad though because I went to work about 7:00 this morning and my OH had to leave beofre I got home and then in the morning he will b sleeping at his mum's house because the builder is coming here at 08:30... which means I have to be up early on a saturday  and I wont see my OH till tomorrow afternoon!
Might pop round his mum's and have a little nap with him, thank goodness she is only down the road! shattered!
Night all, best wishes, take care.

Not a very OS day in this house, I had to go shopping for fresh veg from the lady who comes to our market from Lincolnshire, she is on holiday for two weeks, so went a bit mad....... then to Tesco for odds and bobs.
Lunch over, cheese, ryvita and fruit, off to visit a friend whose husband is ill, she had made me a lemon drizzle cake and sent me home with 7 packets of herb teas, including a jacksons green tea which I have been dying to try for ages.....
Supper, corned beef salad, fresh strawberries and raspberries from the garden with a dollop of vanilla icecream............watched the Hampton Court Flower Show on TV, brought back memories of our visit there in 1999.
Washing in the machine set to wash overnight ready to hang out in the morning and I am off to have my first mug of green tea and read in bed for a while....
night night.

Morning all.
Where's Queenie? This isn't like her not to have been up and at it since before 6 and telling us all about it. Hope she's OK.
Anyway, my cold is subsiding somewhat and it's a glorious day here. Just having some brekkie - green tea then porridge with sultanas and strawberries. Thought I'd have the green tea now as I can't really taste it yetBut TBH I don't really mind it.
I managed to book myself a mystery shopping job in Morecambe today. Well, they may as well pay me to go to the seaside - I haven't been since I was a child but it's got to be 40+ miles away. Taking the boys for a run around on the front and a picnic, then on the way home I'm going to stop off at a pick your own place and stock up on lots of lovely fruit and veg. One of the 2 places I know of has a kids play area and a farm shop with meats too.
Have a load of washing ready to go on the line before I go out so a quick whip round the kitchen will do for now.
Managed to sort out how to get DS2 to practice his speech therapy as he's being a little bugg3r for me at the moment. DS1 found his 'games' and without having been told how to do anything, I found them sat on my bed at 6.30 this morning going through it all - and DS2 was doing it
Off to eat my brekkie and have a browse around. Hope you all have a lovely day.

Have a great day Ticklemouse! I'm off strawberry picking this morning (it's a beautiful day here too) will stock up on other stuff too if I've got enough money left! Have got a really ill friend, a widowed mum and m-i-l and house bound friend so am going to pick extra for them, buy some cream to go with the strawbs and drop them off on the way home - I'd prefer strawberries to flowers anyday
If the Lions were sure of winning I'd watch the game before going out, but I can't stand the tension!
Hope everyone has a good OS day :beer:0 -
morning all. Its before 10 on a saturday morning, and I'm up. Must be summer.
Today I will be mostly: Plaiting Garlic bulbs. D2B has around 200 bulbs sat in the greenhouse on the allotment that he wants shifting, so I said I'd go down and do them. Still it gets me out of working overtime in the office.
Hoping Skipton stays sunny for me.

Morning all :hello:
Not been able to join in much this week, work has been a bit hectic and cut down on my online time
Back to MSE and OS now
This morning I've got a batch of yoghurt on the go and I've enough excess milk to make an egg custard. Just need to nip down to the health food shop to get a nutmeg.
It's a bit cloudly at the moment, but I think the weather is forecast to be hot and sunny. I may just do a bit of gardening before it gets too hot. I need to replace a couple of rows of plants that aren't doing well with something that is more likely to (think I'll put in more salad veg).
I think I'll also pop into the local charity shop to see if there are any more cookery booksEnjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Morning all
Overcast and nasty here this morning - just seen DD1 off to a friends birthday party and waiting for DH to come home from a few extra hours in the office, then off to the library. Will pop into the market too and get some veg - love their £1 a bowl prices.
Managed to pick up a nice pasta gourmet set last night in lidl for £3 - it's in a nice box with a measuring thingy, some nice pasta tongs a laddle and a parmasan grater - all in stainless steel....bargin xmas pressie for some friends of mine.
Have already made a chicken pie for tea this evening - will pick up some salad while i'm at the market to go with it and make some rolls later.
