Blackberry stain? In the MEGA Index under "Cleaning" in "clothes" :D

Lemon - juice it and freeze the juice. Use it any time you are making anything that needs it - like lemon merangue pie yum yum yum and I'm coming round to your house if you make one :)

THANKS! am off to do it now...

    Re: Blackberry stain!
spray it with some vinegar (white) leave for a few mins and blot, keep doing that till it lifts off

    should do the trick

Any thoughts on what to do with them? The wine's the main worry as I'm on my own and won't be able to drink it all up before it goes flat (I don't want to turn into an alcoholic!!!)

Hmmm ... if you have some berries (must be low acid fruits) and gelatine to hand, how about a posh jelly using some of the fizzy wine? Jamie Oliver has a recipe whereby prosecco is added to dissolved gelatine and strawberries, raspberries and blackcurrants to make a "grown-up" jelly.

    afternoon all :)

It's hot, but not sunny and horribly Muggy here so I'm hoping for a bit of rain to break it...

Did a very small farmer's market shop today - potatoes, tomatoes and sausages as I've already got too much in the freezer and I need to storecupboard challenge it before I buy ANY MORE (3 weeks till the next market, so I'll be ready to to stock up then). Then onto the charity shop where I rescued a couple of books for my favourite lazy day activity of lying on the sofa and reading for hours :D and got a couple of lovely tealight candelabra things - one for me, one for the present drawer.

I'm all set up for a mammoth bake this afternoon, but I'm feeling a bit wabbit at the moment... hopefully as it gets a wee bit cooler this evening I'll feel more like putting the oven on!

Grrr. I really do HATE my bank. I've just been to the cash machine and checked my balance. It was lower than I was expecting so I tried to print out a mini statement to see whether a couple of cheques have cleared yet. Of course the stupid machine had run out of ink. So, I came home and rang up the bank. They could see my account details on screen but could not confirm whether or not the cheques had cleared. All they could do was tell me what the balance is, which I know already. Apparently I have to wait until Monday to find out whether the cheques have cleared - even though the cash machine would be able to tell me now if it had ink in it!!!

I really do hope that the cheques haven't cleared yet. If they have, then I've miscalculated last month's budget and I'll have tighten my belt for a bit. Mind you, it's my own fault for not keeping a closer eye on the figures for the last couple of months.

I was regularly getting caught out by the fact that the balance given by the machine was often as much as two hundred quid behind my actual balance. No need to run a spreadsheet, just keep an up to date list on a notepad or a tiny table in a word processor. A column for WHAT, one for HOW MUCH, and one for RUNNING BALANCE. Start making sure you keep a note of everything right now, then check your list against your next statement, marry the two together and from then on you'll always know where you are to the penny.

    HI All,

Have been to local park with DS and my friend and her 3yr old DS. Had great fun running around after the pair of them. At least it made DS tired enough for an afternoon nap. Have also put some washing on and am thinking of what to do DH and myself for tea.

well, it cooled down enough for me to stick the over on and I now have a vicky spong and a loaf of brack sitting on racks cooling off and a batch of everyday biscuit dough in the fridge :D

Another load's all hung out (inside, it still looks like the heavens are about to open) and I'm waiting for things to dry off so I can stick more on (tommorrow!)

I'm eating frozen stuff heated in the still warm oven for tea and I'm ignoring the housework because I'm knackered :p I run round with a brush and shovel tommorrow will have to do...

Everyone enjoy the rest of their saturday, I'm off to put my feet up with my tea infront of the telly (and wee slices of my baking later, for supper, as I need to "test" it!)
