Poor Tickle, try a slice of lemon, a slice of orange, spoonful of honey in a mug of hot water.
I have another prospective buyer coming on Monday so we're trying to finish the utility room, dh has disappeared when he is supposed to be buying guttering
Remember the interview dh went for on Wednesday? He got the job!!!!!
Now I just have to figure out how we are going to survive on £5000 less a yearStill at least he will be happier.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Morning all
Congrats Moggins - it's surprising how much less you can cope on when the atmosphere is better and everyone's happier. All the best!!
Had a 20min whip round this morning and just having a coffee while the kitchen floor dries...working from lunchtime but little one should arrive just in time for his 2 hour nap! Will endeavour to get the pork cassarole going and make up some pastry for a chiken pie while he's sleeping. Stewed up my cherries and gooseberries yesterday to make into crumbles - so will get those sorted too and down in the freezer..........if i can find room that is! I used to buy 6 loaves of bread a week and manage to fit them in there but now i'm making my own each day the freezer has become full of lots of other lovely things just waiting to be defrosted.......
Had a real lapse last night and we ended up getting sausage and chips from the chippie van that visits the village......bliss --ate them out the paper too so no washing up!!
Have got to make a victorian costume over the weekend for DD2 as well as get the grass cut in the front and back gardens, want hubby to build me a couple of shelves under one of my worktops in the kitchen too so will get the wood out later (saved from dismantling dd1 cabin bed 6 weeks ago) and if he falls over it he might be more inclined to do something!
Hoping the weather is nicer at the weekend so we can actually go out for a picnic or a trip to the zoo (won a family ticket on the local radio).
Have a good one all"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Yesterday I had a me day. I made the beds, washed the breakfast dishes and then NOTHING all day until I made tea :j I spent yesterday morning in town shopping ( 2 new hair dyes which will last me until just before Xmas as I'll only use them just before an important event ~ I don't mind my roots showing ~, a set of Tarot cards, seeds for next year ~ 75% off in Wilkos ~ plant labels from wilkos, a new mat for by the front door, envelopes) and then I came home to have lunch instead of staying in town and going to the pub or McDonalds
After lunch I went to the local craft shop to look at the prices of card (is £15.99 for 50 cards/evelopes & some peel-off-stickers good?) and then on to the local charity shop (Cat Protection League) where I had another good shop - lavendar scented box which I will use for Xmas pressie for Aunty, a local history book I've been after for about 4 years, 3 cushion pads at 50p each, 8 large placemats as new for £2.50, and an oldfashioned sewing box for £1
It was DD's school trip yesterday so she was out until 3.30pm, as soon as she came home she put her pj's on and then fell asleep on my knee around 6pm so she ended up going to bed without any tea as she just kept falling back asleep whenever we woke her up.
Today : large light wash done and mostly on the line, some have gone back into soak for about the 100th time , 1 batch of dishes (mugs and glasses, we went through loads yesterday for some reason - must have been the IL's at breakfast time :rotfl:), load of towels in on the hottest wash I can put them on ATM. I've still got all the ironing to do, might do it tonight while watching CSI.
Did I mention that DD and I had a lovely breakfast this morning... bacon butties :drool: instead of the ususal cereal/toast.
I've got ebay listing finishing today around midday and I have to sort out the next lot. Which reminds me, I want to look into setting up an ING savings account
I also need to get some gardening done. I might have to make lettuce soup as I haven't got room in my garden for my carrots or spring onions which are getting too big for their pots, PLUS I have 2 more pots of herbs to plant out.Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Did manage to get the washing out and HM packed lunches done before leaving for work this morning. Will be spending this afternoon helping to set up the summer fete and then this evening doing the raffle and getting wet sponges hurled at me [not at the same time] but I hopeful that a free glass of Pims might just find its way over from the bar to me at some stage!! Tomorrow I'll be working and catching up from my manic week and then Sunday, weather permitting, it should be a picnic and a walk up the Old Man of Wilmington.
Have a good weekend

Just going to pack some clothes and switch the coolbox on to prechill it. We are off camping for the weekend as soon as hubby gets home from work. He and ds are going fishing while I clean the folding camper and then relax with a good book or walk the dog.The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0

rebob - I'm feeling v jealous - I would love to be camping this weekend - especially as the weather forecast is great (well, for scotland anyway!).
I've not been very old style at all this week - I'm going to try and claw back things at the weekend though. At least I've got good intentions with my long to do list :rotfl:
Right, better do some work.............r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Today I am a waste of OS space!
I am here having lunch in the office, take-out from the canteen, veggie lasagne, roast potatoes and broccoli in cheese sauce. And all because I didn't feel like the rice cakes I already had with me. And have been out every night so have made NO BREAD!!!!!!! Aaarrrgggh!!!! Anyway, I only eat from the canteen about three times a year (and I'm sure one of those is the obligatory Christmas lunch), so I won't give myself too hard a time.
But that's not all! On the way home from visiting my Mum and Gran last night, I went in the chip shop!!!! And got a cheese and onion fritter with chips and batter bits!!! I had HM chilli in the freezer, but my blood sugar was very low, and I couldn't face waiting for that to get hot!
So - two days running! I must be getting reckless with going on holiday next week!
Anyway, it's only £3.70 in total, but I dread to THINK how much sugar, salt and fat!!!!!!! Uurghh. My poor body won't thank me. Good job I have five pieces of fruit here for the afternoon!
Edit: to remind myself that I'm making a gorgeous brown rice seeded risotto tonight...so will be slightly making up for it!!0 -
Ok - now so far in advance of myself I've got to wait until little one wakes up!!!
SO far I've made a Pork and green pepper goulash style cassarole - in slow cooker as we speak, cherry and apple crumble, gooseberry crumble, chicken pie, a roll of fridge bisuits and some cheesy pastry puffs with my off cuts.
I've now run out of flour!!!! Good job it's shopping night tonight.
I've done all the washing up - the kitchen is clear - I've done some internet banking and still he sleeps on......
What do you think of my chances of watching an episode of Cold Feet are before he wakes up?? :rotfl:"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Been a good girl today. Was up at 8am (early for me
) have stripped and re-made the bed.
Bedding and towels washed and on the line. Did a second wash most of it is now on the line.
Emptied the 3 boxes that have been sat in the back bedroom since we moved in 4 months ago. Have chucked loads of stuff and found homes for nearly everything else.
Need to get off my fat bum and finish tidying up up stairs and then hoover up and then tackle the kitchen and the ironing. ughhhhhhhhhhh.
Washing up might not claim that I could not do it becuase when I was cutting up some old cashpoint cards cut my finger
I know useless. Never mind.
Think we will have steak, wedges and salad. Lettuce from the garden yummy.
And strawberries and cream for dessert.
Right I am off.
Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Yours

Well my items have ended and my Paypal account has just been upped to £57.14 :j:j:j:j So I've just transfered £51.00 across to my bank account. Once it clears I'll add up all the postage costs so far and round it off then transfer that amount to my Capital One Credit card to pay a bit more off. I need to pay OH some money that he's earnt through ebay, but he could have it as treats instead in with the weekly shop (I think 4 cans of fosters should keep him quiet
over a couple of weeks) and DD is owed some as well so that can be done in the form of a cheque paid into her savings account or as spending money over the summer holidays - I'll just ask her now.... Yay! She wants it as a cheque to pay "to go and see Mickey" so that makes it easier for me
Plus that means that we can have a trip into town during the holidays which will waste an afternoon or so.
All I have to do is remember that I need to pay my ebay fees yetCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
