    hi all,

been working all day (again!) so no chance for O/S yet...I've promised to do big lots of baking over the weekend though, so I'll be checking when I get home that I either have all the ingredients for things already or that they're ordered from Tesco for tommorrow. I think some kind of mince or steak pie is in the offing as well - I'll need to check what I've more of in the fridge.

I've been glued to the new sites all day - what's happened in London is horrific and my thoughts go out to all those affected.

Rebob - sorry to hear that the system's been failing your son until now, hopefully now he'll get the help he needs to flourish. (((hugs))) to you.

Jw1096 - (((hugs))) - I'm sure that uni will work out fine for you in the end, just not quite as quickly as you'd hoped, I know it's hard though not to feel a bit upset at the time.
Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...

Took dog for a walk, then saw the news about the first blast. Then realised about all the others. Managed to locate/get a reply from friends who live and work in London. One was just 3 streets away from the place where that bus bomb went off and is quite shaken. Thankfully she is physically ok. My gran, who is going senile is very upset about it all. She's worried that my parents won't be able to get back from their holiday (they're flying back to Birmingham on Saturday). This wall to wall coverage on tv isn't good for her.

Went out to an organic restaurant for lunch - gran had given us some cash to go out. Supper tonight was a baked potato with baked beans (and white wine!) :D

Rebob - thank goodness you have now got some proper understanding with your son's schooling etc. It seems to take a lot of time for people to get things realised and it isn't the fault of the parents, as you know.

Going to see REM tomorrow night. Can't wait! Not very moneysaving at all, but a treat that I've always wanted!

Hi, Been having problems with MSE site over last couple of days, very slow but all other sites OK. Seems Ok today, however. Hope everyone is safe. Brother works in London but was already at desk when all of the stuff happened, thank God. Feel exhausted from the worry but so glad he is fine.
Have had a good OS week. Lived off freezer, cupboards etc so nogrocery shopping all week. Did go to John Lewis sale with the one intention of starting up a present box - spent £50 but got loads and loads of pressies. This should save me money in the long run - thought about buying the pressies back from myself so to speak so I could build up another supply of money.
Did some baking for the first time in ages this week; bread and biscuits. Both really tasty.
Going to go to bed soon - no Big Brother tonight because I am too tired! (bet it's a good night, always is if you miss it!)
    Henhog.

Hi all. Back from my little trip to France, only to hear the dreadful news about the explosions in London. We have family who live/work there and fortunately they are all safe. Hope the same holds true for any other OSers in a similar position.

    Morning all.

DD2yo has had me up since 5am, so I'm trying to summon some enthusiasm as i'm feeling a bit weary already.

I have to clear and find some space fotr all the camping stuff I bought Yesterday, and then, I must get the breadmaker on, and make some chicken soup for tea tonight, using up the stock I made overnight in the slow cooker.

Other than a tidy round I think that's it for me today other than amusing a 2yo.
    Have a good day everyone:D

    Good bordig :D

I have a stinker of a cold, which is why I can't talk properly. I was fine yesterday lunch time but by 2pm I was a red nosed, puffy eyed, sneezing, head aching domestic goddess :) DS1 came in at 1.30am which meant I was then wide awake till nearly 5!! Having then fallen asleep again, he woke up properly at 6 (Grrrrr) I even thought about starting this thread about 2am :)

So, today is sorting out kids drawers and cupboards. Already done DS1's socks and undies whilst watching him outside waiting to be picked up for school. As the weather is sunny today, I'll do some laundry. It's also DS1's sports day (at last) this afternoon, so that's my pm sorted. Don't think I can cope with thinking too much about food so it'll be something and chips for tea. At least my living room is clean. I decided to spring clean it last night whilst watching tv - who needs expensive cleaners when a bowl of soapy water, a cloth and duster and some newspaper was all I used. I washed windows, woodwork, radiators, leather suite, walls etc. Wonder how long it will take the boys to undo all my work ?

Ok, off for another cup of tea. Didn't fancy my usual healthy brekkie of muesli, strawbs and lemony water so have munched on tea with toast and jam. Mmmmm makes a nice change.

    Bye

    Morning All

I'm a bit late this morning, had a lie in:o

Got plenty to do today, general tidy round & dust, want to sort out the big cupboard in the new nursery as it is the only area in there that we haven't tackled yet, goodness knows what I'll unearth! Was going to take my very overdue books back the the libriary ( I found them lurking under the sofa, forgotton about for 3 months:eek:) but I think I might leave that until tomorrow & combine it with a trip to the local shops too as I want to go to the chemist etc & that is quite a bit further away. Off to put a HUGE sausage casserole inot the slow cooker as my paretns are comming for dinenr tomorrow night I'll have this all ready for them.

Hope you're cold isn't too bad Ticklemouse, looking on the bright side a cold is a great excuse for a hot toddy in the evening:D
