Good morning
Crikey  what a night! Very, very windy ... more like Autumn than Summer!! D9yo woke up an unearthly hour with nightmare's and found it very difficult to get back to sleepBy the time *he'd* settled, there was no hope for me! LOL
Managed to freeze up 8 family meal sized portions of beef yesterday evening so I'm very pleased with that success.
Today is going to have to be an Admin day .. the school are throwing letters at us almost daily and nearly all involve money!! School Prom for Yr 6 = £5, 3 performances of Yr 6 play to organise around dh's shifts plus tickets for each performance; yesterday I was given another letter for the Yr 6 day out which is another fiver - and they all happen .... the same week
Last week my Yr 5'er was at the Natural History Museum but at least that one was paid for several weeks ago and the boys have their own budgets so I don't have to worry about spending money - but I do still retain the responsibility of their school expenses.
I need to get to the recycling bins, but I'll double that up with a trip to the library
If all goes well, might even grab half hour "resting my eyes" this afternoon
I need to defrost a cake for d11yo who scored brilliantly in his SATS so we'll have a mini celebration tonight(I'll whip up a speedy hm card too)
Have a great day everyone~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Good morning Queenie.:hello:
I am SO happy this morning. I've got my broadband back! There was a problem with our local BT exchange and I had to make do with dial-up. I kept being chucked off!
Anyway, didn't your wee fellow do well with his STATS? It's such an important stage in his schooling.
Have a good celebration this evening.

Morning.
Shame there isn't a smilie with a big yawn! Only wish I had been out living it up last night!
Keeping myself entertained with the free 100g of choccy fruit I am going to get on my way home.
only OS act today is my packed lunch... the house is really in need of a tidy. OH is off today, probably still sound asleep, but he only has one day off before he goes back to work on Friday, bless him.
Anyone got some nice sun today? Keeping my fingers crossed for the weekend, trying to figure out when exactly summertime is! Thought about putting the heating on the other day!!
the sun will come out.... tomorrow? fingers crossed

Good morning all! Sunny and bright here but definitly not warm July weather. Darling OH and I went to see Disney's Beauty & The Beast at Bristol last night - completely magical and I recommend anyone to go see it if they can! I think OH has come to terms with the fact that we are a little bit poor this month, or he did when I counted out the last of my coppers to pay for 2 glases of wine at the theatre bar he he!
Anyway, OH disclosed finally last night why he couldnt touch the money he had squirreled away - he has booked a 2 day trip to Disneyland Paris over New Year (31st Dec - 2nd Jan and my 27th birthday is 1st Jan). I wa so cross when he took the extra money out of the account, but it is hard to stay mad at him when he has done such a sweet thing that he knows will mean the world too me, as it may mean he will propose to me there!!!
Anyway nothing OS for me today, back at work and have Tesco Value chicken pies with new potatoes, veg and gravy for tea.
Take care all!Kirsty, Taunton, xxx0 -
Morning all
After a fairly disastrous day yesterday ( Rage : the take away was lovely at the time but so salty I spent half the night drinking & the other half in the loo! Ahh, the downside of being OS is that take aways are no longer as nice:rolleyes: And But i have still got soem leftover which can be squirreled away in the freezer for the next emergency;)) I was seriously considering having a duvet day today!!! But no, you're all here & busy so I shall at least make an effort to put away yesterdays cash & carry purchases (or find room if at all possible more like!) & sort out the cupboard in the spare room. Last nights intended dinner of plaice fillets, caujan potato wedges & mange tout free from friends garden for dinner has been rolled over to tonight so nothing much for me to prepare.
What is everyone else upto? I think I need inspring to keep going today so I shall check back in a while:D
Queenine, you must be so proud of your son, he deserves a nice gooey cake:j
SP, Disney land at New year must be so magical, hope everything you are wishing for comes true but when the time comes I bet you'll enjoy yoyrself so much anyway;)Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
Morning all,
Kirsty I'm glad you had such a lovely evening.
Margaret - glad you're back on Broadband! I don't have that, but I'm getting tempted, it's SO SLOW for me!!!
Kippsy - my house is in need of a blitz, too. I never seem to be there at the moment! And apparently the weekend is going to be hot and sunny...
Queenie - well done to your son!! And grrr to the school for their contant spending of your hard-earned!
I had a gorgeous evening last night. Absolutely nothing OS. Went to see Suzanne Vega, who's my absolute favourite artist, and for the second year running she has played in my home town. Hurrah! It was fabulous, perfect in fact. And we went to chat with her afterwards, which she always does; she's the best!
So, that was a lovely mid-week treat. And the ticket was bought last November, so a cheap night out when it came to it!
Nothing OS today...just getting work finished ahead of a week off to that log cabin. Now THAT will be pretty darned Old Style!!!!0 -
Loadsabob - I converted to broadband about 3 weeks ago and it is just wonderful - I'm now so addicted I was logging on at 6.20am this morning whilst eating my brekkies! I can't believe Queenie was up so early though - how do you do it?!
Managing a bit of OS money saving today. I've brought my packed lunch in to work today and I had actually got my dinner planned, except I've just had a surprise invitation to dinner from a friend tonight so I will carry that over till tomorrow. Am off to the craft shop at lunch time to buy a couple of bits to finish making OH's birthday card.
Birmingham is cold and windy today. Boo hiss.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Good morning
Just back from piano lesson, ds now fussing over maths before being allowed anywhere near the computer, so I am making the most of this small opportunity to come on here.
Need to do some shopping today, as I am away for the weekend & DH & DS will be left to fend for themselves. (hee hee)0 -
Hi all, thought I'd join in and post today. I've got a lovely veg curry in the slow cooker, a load of washing nearly ready to go out, I've hoovered and mopped and cleaned my kitchen window and the bathroom. My hairdresser is arriving in a minute, £7 for a cut, not bad.
Have a good day!0
