Working today and no time for any baking. Have homemade savoury mince pies with mash and veg tonight - managed to make up 24 pies - rest are frozen - will be handy to bung them straight in the oven on a busy day. Got to do something with all the cherries I picked at the weekend - but that will have to wait until tonight.
Slept really badly last night - what with the cats fighting - next doors dog barking and the breadmaker beeping at 4am.....feeling a bit blury eyed now.
Am quite chuffed with myself today tho - have just checked my bank and realised just how much money I've got in savings now. Didn't even have a savings account before I started coming on here and now have 2 with my main bank and lots of pots with ING. I've managed to transfer bits and pieces into accounts rather than spending it and with the help of doing shopping online and spending less I've now got £195 in savings and I've managed to pay all but 2 payments on the council tax for the year.....I'm paying it off early so that I can use the normal amount i'd set aside for Christmas this year rather than relying on my credit card. :j
I've just had details of my start up grant too - so will get back £175 from there that i've had to payout and hubby has £185 of expenses cheque paid today ......it's all money that's been spent and accounted for so will be nice to stash those cheques away for a rainy day ......mind you it's raining today....maybe I need to look on ebay...........
It's quite nice to know that there's something there now for emergancies....I feel almost like a proper grown up!!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

I have a few pots at the Woolwich Open Plan too. It's a way of segregating your savings for specific purchases, say new car, holiday, garden, etc, but as they're all in one account you get the one, attractive rate.spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets0

Afternoon all, I should be up a ladder fixing the guttering but I'm all alone in the house (DH has gone for a job interview) so perhaps it's not the wisest thing to do. I think I'll just tidy the living room and long for my kitchen gadgets to return to their rightful placeOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Ooh - I don't think anyone else has posted this yet, but "Do you spend like a Prav or a Chav?" - I think we're all safe there, but about to be labelled by the whole world with that horrible word!!!!!!!!
Edit - well, I get to the end and click for results, and nothing happens! To be fair, I think I know the answer...but they don't have Old Style in mind. I get the impression that "Pravs" are really "Chav" wannabes who just don't want to go into debt for it...!0 -
Prior to being a PRAV I was a 'Price Lead Replacer':cool:Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0
