Hi, this is an inspiring thread. Hope all who want babies get their wish.
Someone I know was told she would never have kids because of a variety of medical problems. A few years later she went to her doctors with bad stomach pain. He told her there was a stomach bug going round.
2 hours later her DD was born in the back of an ambulance:eek: She is now 13 and fit and healthy.Sealed Pot Challenge Member NO. 853 :j0 -
Hi,
I was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 22, didn't have a cycle for 2 years!
Had ovarian drilling which restored my cycle.
I've had clomid, metformin, xenical (for weight loss), no luck
2 cycles of IUI, no luck
1 cycle of IVF, failed to fertilise
2 months later I'm pg naturally with DD, it took 8 weeks for me to realise as I though the IVF drugs had messed me up - they had but in a good way.
When I got pg I was taking 850mg of Metformin a day, a baby asprin, and GTF chromium, I'd also lost 2 stone following a GI way of eating.
I'm going to follow this plan again soon as I'd like to have a go at #2.
In total it took 8 years for me to get pg and had decided that after Christmas 2006 we were to apply to adopt.Proud to be dealing with my debts
DD Katie born April 2007!
3 years 9 months and proud of it

It took about six years for my Mum & Dad to concieve me, I know my Mum took a fertility medication (Might be Clomid) for two years or so on a really high dose but nothing happened, then she said she was fed up of the meds & they'd adopt, so they spent two further years getting approved & were approved, then she naturally concieved me! About four years later my Brother was concieved so it can happen!0

One child is born every minute of every day in the UK. Childbirth is never a miracle, getting pregnant is never a miracle. If you can't get pregnant, then live your life. Your life is a gift - your parents' egg and sperm happened to meet, you as a foetus managed to survive, you were born - enjoy your own life and stop trying to live it through the life of some imagined offspring. You really don't need children to be happy, no matter how much your friends and/or the media tell you so.

Back in the 70's/80's my mum and dad tried to have a baby. 7 years of trying nothing. Referred to Guy's hospital for tests and treatments. The morning of the 1st appointment Mum found out she was pregnant with me!
They had also decided to have the first sets of tests and see what was wrong, previous tests had shown nothing wrong and that would be it, so they spent all the money they had saved for a baby on a new tv and car! They regreted that 9 months later!0 -
I was attending a private fertility clinic for 2 years and my consultant told me we were unlikely to conceive,he said make an appoint for 3 months time for more tests.
I fell pregnant the following month,I still think it was because I stopped stressing about it and accepted we would probably have to adopt.
I still remember the pharmacists face when he was confronted with 3 (me and my sister and auntie)crying women in the middle of his pharmacy when I read out the results from the sheet of paper he handed me(still got it too after 30 years and 3 sons later).
Good luck and just let nature take care of the situation.0 -
