We concieved DS1 after 6 months and everything went ok.
When it came to #2 we tried for 3 years plus. We both had tests, i had internal scans, series of blood tests, and was then basically told we dont know whats wrong and we wont help. I went years with no periods and then months of constant bleeding, no one knew anything.
DH and had a break apart for a few months, worked thru a few things and got back together. I went on the pill while we were apart to try and sort out the constant bleeding but it gave me awfully painful breakthru bleeds so i stopped taking it a month after we got back together.
We carried on having sex without contraception as we had come to terms with not having any more kids and lo and behold, we fell pregnant that month!!!Bringing up 2 handsome boys and 1 gorgeous girl the MSE way!Joseph born 19th December 2001Matthew born 8th August 2007Tara born 23rd January 20110 -

I had severe endometriosis and was advised that it would be a million to one chance of getting pregnant.
Well, it happened. When I went upto the doctor, he refused to believe I was and tried very gently to tell me it was my body wanting to be pregnant, so was giving me signs..I then produced the 6 pregnancy tests I had done at home, he spoke about false positives and then sent off a test of his own (whilst also preparing me for the inevitable negative).
A week later and the doctor was forced to eat his words!
We went on to have two more children, one after fertility treatment (hence the 3 year gap between eldest and middle, we started trying for another one as soon as we could after eldest was born), whilst we fell naturally (and surprisingly as were not even trying) with youngest..and I was breastfeeding and had not even had a monthly (we also used precautions)!
That said, between each pregnancy, there would be several operations to clear out the tissue..so not all plain sailing. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I was told I had PCOS at 18 after missing several periods/ irregular ,heavy, light and very painful...you know the story!. My gp calmly told me I wouldnt be able to concieve naturally and would need treatment when I decided I wanted a family. At the time I wasnt trying. I met my dh when I was 20 and we both knew that this was something we would have to tackle in the future, after we were married. I wasnt having any periods at all (so approx 2 yrs) by the time we married when I was 22. A month after our honeymoon my boobs started getting bigger and I put on weight. I decided to to a test and after doing 3 in a row, all with a blue line in the right place, I new I must be pregnant! I was completely gobsmacked and when I finally had a scan it confirmed we had got pregnant on the honeymoon. Ds1 was born 9 months after our wedding. When he was 12 mnths (and I still hadnt had a period) We decided to see if we could have another. After all he was our miricle and we couldnt possibly be that lucky again right? I had some tests done again which took a few months and was told I wasnt ovulating so would need to start on clomid. I was told to come back in a month to start treatment. When I went back I told them I didnt need it . I had fallen pregnant again! 8 mnths later dd was born. I actually managed to have 2 proper periods by the time dd was 11 months and the week before her 1st birthday I found out we were expecting ds2.

My Dsis has a ten year old son, and has used no contraception at all since he was born. After many many tests they decided her tubes were blocked and she would need treatment to conceive again. In April 2008 she was told that she was not eligible for treatment under our health board, and that was that. My DNeice was born in May 2009. Conceived naturally and delivered safely wirh no complications. Had PCOS and no periods. Had 6 years of fertility treatment which resulted in DS1 (born by CS). 3 months later while still fully breast feeding and no periods I learned DD1 was on her way!
Nice to see this thread back. Since I last posted, I've conceived naturally and given birth to a third full term baby. So miracles continue to happen!0 -
I was told my chances of conceiving naturally were so low to not even consider it an option... 2 years after that I had a surprise DD1... 5 years later and the First month of trying, DD2 was on her wayA very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Hi i have not read all through but here is my story in short
Diagnosed with Severe PCOS July 2002 blood tests and a scan showed this, following 2 yrs of ttc with no luck (thank god i started young!).
had a hysterosalpingogram July 2002 - tubes n.a.d.
July 2002 - DH SA - normal.
My bloods abnormal, repeated and worse
6mths clomid given, taken and failed to work.
Told nothing could be done, so we asked for a second opinion!!
Saw another consultant 2004 - 3 cycles of tamoxifen given, and on third cycle first bfp 2004, which led to a tubal m/c @ just 6wks - our world crashed.
3 more cycles of tamoxifen failed to work following the m/c.
Yet again told only option was ivf or a try at iui, we asked for a referral to another consultant but was turned down.
Saw another consultant 2005 after self referring.
Arranged for lap and dye, plus ovarian drilling July 05 - After post op problems i slowly recovered.
I Knew it was never going to happen and gave up hope completely, despite having the op. BUT second BFP 6wks later (after the op) OMG how did that happen???!!!!
Took Metformin, Pregnyl and Cylogest for 14weeks of the pregnancy. And now have a beautiful daughter who was born 14th may 2006, @ 20.23, weighing just 6lb 11oz, induced at 40+6 and delivered by emergency c-section due to failure to progress/problems.
I suffered a major haemorage and recover was long and hard but i didnt care! i had a child.
After 6 1/2 yrs of ttc altogether we had a baby, WOW
On dd`s 1st birthday in may 2007 we found out we were expecting another!! a third bfp which happened naturally OMG - just taking Metformin, Took Metformin, Pregnyl and Cylogest but sadly i had a missed m/c which was confirmed on 15th June 07 after a reassurance scan, and i had a erpc on the 20th June
I got my fourth bfp again naturally on the 4th Sept 07, back on Metformin Pregnyl and Cyclogest....6 week scan baby had a heartbeat, 12 weeks all is well13 weeks heard heartbeat for the first time on Doppler
20 week scan perfect!!!
Our beautiful SON born on the 2nd May!!!!!
Our waiting and long stressful journey ended and we were blessed with DD. Then we were blessed AGAIN after a short journey with DS.
That is it no more journeys to follow, no more stress of ttc.
Although at times i was negative and found it hard to listen to those stupid women who say the silliest things I got through it and i was lucky.
If i can do it ANYONE can!!!!
Hope you understand that lol! I had no monthly cycles due to pcos, didnt ovulate and had very low female hormones.
BUT did it in the end xDebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j
