They decided they would blow the money on a luxury Carribbean holiday and use that as a starting point and celebration of their future life as a couple without children.

  • It always seems to be people who have given up on fertility treatment or who are just about to start who have the miracles!! Isn't it strange!!

Again thanks to everyone for your encouraging stories! xxx

You're right. People often stop trying, focus on themselves and then fall pregnant. You are probably doing the right thing by trying alternative therapies. It's a good way of making time for yourself, caring for yourself and getting a bit of a respite from the pressure of hoping for a pregnancy. It may happen, it may not...but as least you will be in a healthy mental state to cope with whatever life brings you. Take care, and good luck. x

Someone I know didn't have periods for several years due to severe anorexia, and was told she'd done so much damage to herself she would never have kids. She has three kids now. :D

Ive told this story before but i dont mind telling it again!

Our family are the worst concievers ever! My mum was trying for a baby for 13 years before she got lucky. in the 13th year my mother gave up hope and due to dodgy periods she decided the time was right to have a hysterectomy. She was in her 40's by this time. She went to the doctors and the dr said that before they do anything they have to check for pregnancy as standard procedure, and guess who was in her womb! Me!

This also makes things quite scary, because the chances of me being in my womb was quite small, but when i was born on the 10th september, my now boyfriend was in the same ward at the same time as me, he was born on the 3rd of september! We then went to school together, i hated him but then that turned to love and 2 years down the line we now live together!

I think life must be mapped out for you, the chances of that happening must be so tiny!

hey everybody, very teary at the moment.last friday had an emergancy ectopic pregnancy.went to midwife as planned and she got me in for a scan.my womb had started to prepare for pregnancy alot earlier for than my dates as thought, but found a small sac lying on the floor.i also had free fluid throughout my uterus.they wasnt sure of anything and i kinda got it in my head that i miscarried so they took some blood anyway to rule out ectopic.went home and waited for the phone call.come in straight away and pack an overnight bag they said.the bood test was high.sorted out the children as it was after school and went to hospital.had moor blood tests done and was nill by mouth since 9.30 that morning in case of anything.next day doctors came round still not sure of ectopic so they booked me to have a laparoscopy that afternoon, but it never got to that.as i was phoning my husband to tell him to comme down i fainted on my bed anwoke up to my feet being elevated, head lowered by nurses and told id collapsed and that i wasnt going to have laperoscapy but they was just going to operate anyway.hubby got thre just in time as i was wheeled to theatre.that many things going through my mind, husband,my two beautiful girls, not waking up coz being overweght and still managed to say to theatre staff that i hadnt shaved bellow and still got my pants on!the operation itself was only supposed to take about an hour.4 and a half hours later i came out of recovery, hubby by my side.i had 2 blood transfusions, with alot of blood loss.had my tube and ovary removed.doctors came around to tell me the news on saturday morning.im not sure ii remember how i felt but i knew and know that i was in the right place at the right time, literraly a time bomb waiting to go off.i could have been anywhere to have fainted and i might not have een able to tell you all this, and really i must be to me be lucky to be alive, very lucky and gratfull.thank you for reading this and sorry to put a dampner on a miracle pregnacy thread and i would have loved to have been able to keep you up to speed on baby progess and all these baby threads, but it sadley not the case.you might be thinking that i havent even mentioned the loss of my unborn child, not knowing at how old it was or even that the doctors couldnt rule out it could have been twins as having the sac in the womb as well and i suppose that it will start to sink in soon after i get over the fact that im lucky to be here for my family.thank you everybody:A
