Well the CSA have not been paying my Maintenance for DS, so the bank balance is some £336 shorter then I would have liked. So I only have £142 in the savings afterall. Here was I thinking that I was going to have nearly half my slushfunds, but alas its not there.
Been on the phone to the CSA and they are going to investigate again. Say Ex hasnt paid, but I know he has already been on to them and sent copies of his bank statements to prove that he has.! Why can't life be smoothe!!
I am off to take my friend and her Mum to Iceland, very appropriate in this weather, while the Dad is in respite care. So we need to go, big freeze or not.
I made a large pan of Beef Ragu sauce with spaghetti for tea. Enough for 6 adults, and I still managed to save 12 laddles full of the sauce for another time. All that from one Packet of mince, and a few rashers of bacon, etc.
I have the chicken carcass with a few vegetables on for a stock. Cooked up a small hock joint to use the meat later. So I am trying to make the things that have been lurking around the fridge and freezer before I use up the new shopping that arrived from ASDA yesterday. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hope you get the CSA sorted out Mooloo.
I've got a chicken carcass simmering in the slow cooker to make into soup - it smells lovely !!!
We are on stock cupboard meals as I refuse to do any shopping until we've used the odds and ends up !!!0 -
Well the day has flown by. I had a nice surprise yesterday when I took my friends to Iceland, we also went around Aldi, and then on to Tesco until we had all the things she wanted. But I was rewarded with lunch in the Hungry Horse, and a bottle of wine, (oh and promise of some more chickens when they next get them from the factory shop!). So I am happy and it was nice to have some time out for all of us.
I left the family to sort out their own dinner, I wasnt hungry after my big lunch. I didnt turn in to sleep quite so early, although I went up to my bedroom around 10. I did stay and watch TV with the family downstairs for a change.
Today I was at my meeting with the Area Manager, and then I had my physio at the JR.
The meeting was minuted by the Area Support Manager, and then a lot of it was pretty informal, but I get the idea that I will be "laid off" some how, as I cannot do the job, and it doesnt look like I will be fit to do it anymore. I feel very sad that I am in this position, and just wish that I could have got better this time.
The physio said that she will see me in two weeks time, after I have had my accupuncture. Lets see what happens.
Trouble with twin2 is just so horrid I dont want to talk about it. I am at my wits end. She has apparantly now got a £715 overdraft, her card has been swallowed up by the machine, and got alone knows what else is happening!. We tried to stop the bank giving her an account in September, but they didnt listen to me.
Social services are useless. I have had it, they told me someone would call and visit Monday after my urgent call on Sunday, still not a single thing from them.
I told them it was urgent about her money, and the promise of helping her with Welfare Rights etc, etc, was going to be too late. Well the horse has bolted again!!
Right I am going to rest my head and have a read for 30 mins. Am here at BF's for the night. Bought some bits to do us a meal, but I am the proverbial Knackd so I better stop before I do too much. Get my energy back.
I am on the new Anti depressants and I think they have slowed me down. Its an effort to really think!!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hi Mooloo sorry about twin2 itrs sounds really desperate with her. Do you know why she seems to need so much money or what she is spending it on?
Also did you look on Mencaps website?
Hope you have a nice evening with BF.

Must admit havent had much time to search out the Mencap. Yesterday I spent hanging around doctor surgeries and the hospital casualty, as Biggest of Mooloos woke up with a red and swollen eye. Her GP sent her to the hosptial eye department, where we were waiting for 4 hours!. (even though the sign said wait approx 1 1/2 hours!!). So it was dark by the time we got home.! What an exhausting day!!
She has something called Irisitis? The iris is swollen. Anyway she is tucked up in bed at the moment.
Twin 2 has been a little bit more subdued. But I am awaiting the Social Services who are due any minute now. See if they will come up with any bright ideas. Sorry those of you who are social workers, but I just feel the family has been let down, and that I have been left to deal with it all.
In my darker moments I wonder what would have happened if I had refused to let the girls come home? But then I feel guilty that I even think like that!.
Right I must chase up DS's birthday presents as they are still not delivered. Getting worried now as he is 16 on Sunday.
DHL delivered to me this morning, and I thought hurray, but it was BF's present for his birthday next week.
Our evening the other day, was quite, once I had cooked dinner, we just sat watching tv. I read a book, and relaxed. Time out.
Biggest of Mooloo's BF, is helping around the house, and gee ing up the twins and DS when he sees that they havent done things. Last night he told Twin2 to tidy up the bathroom and she did it straight away..... Yipee. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I would question if it is actually legal for the bank to allow twin 2 to go into overdraft? Are there any bank buffs on here or on the financial pages that anyone knows of?0

Mooloo just thought I would let you know that I am also suffering from Iritis (also called uveitis) which flared up 4 days before Christmas-second time I have had it. She must follow the treatment by the letter,as it can in severe cases lead to scarring of the eye-which can reduce vision or even lead to blindness. It most commonly occurs as a secondary illness to other auto-immune illnesses, such as Arthritis, Lupus or in my case,Colitis. It is very treatable with steriod eye drops and the pupil is usually dilated during treatment to stop it adhering (one of the symptoms which shows it's not a simple eye infection is the tiny pupil.) I hope she feels better soon. I finish my treatment this evening, although I am concerned as I was supposed to be reviewed before stopping but they can't fit me in for another 21/2 weeks (I am attending Moorfields in London.) It tends to be a recurring condition so she will need to look after herself and try to avoid stress (ha ha-I wish we all could!)Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0

I am not sure how the system works. The social workers told her to stop paying her benefits into the Halifax, and to open a cashbuilders account with Nationwide, and then just offer to pay a small amount to Halifax until she clears it. I think that it is time that I re-contact the Welfare Rights, etc or The CAB and see if they can sort things. I doubt I can wait for the social workers to actually get around to doing anything. Mores the pity.
Today is my sons 16th Birthday. Luckily the guitar Hero's arrived on time, and then he and his mates got to use the "den" in the garage. So they had a good night last night. (KMind you I think a few cans of lager sneaked in!!) Oops I missed that.
My BF came to see me on Friday, and I was pleased that he was able to stay until this morning. It saved me driving to Oxford, and we went to see my parents yesterday. Everyone seemed to get on a lot better, and he was brilliant with the Grandchildren. It was a nice weekend. For a change. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Glad you have had a better weekend Mooloo.Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0

Nice to see you had some "you time" with boyfriend it's such a shame your youngest daughter is causing you so much grief and that social services are not really supporting you all better i know they have busy caseloads but you do seem to be getting the short straw
My spodylosis is getting worse and i have sciatic pains now and my physio wrote to my doctor that there is no long term benefit to continuing I am up to 12 gabapentin day now plus paracetamol or brufen but having tummy irritation..............and i claimed this new incapacity benefit so have to look for a job ???
The system sucks and i am not dealing with anywhere near the amount of agencies that you are hat off to you i really do not know how you cope
Hope things improve soon
