Mooloo's struggle with babies and bills

Options
I am not sure how to start a thread< Even if I am in the right area of the board but here goes.
I have been posting since around September, when I have been searching MSE for ways and means to make funds stretch, to feed the ever expanding family, and to deal with benefits and income supported problems.
Some people out there will have come across my random entrys in various threads, but I have been mostly in the debt free wannabe sights, with money challenges, on the Groceries. I have also been posting regularily on Hypno's Diary, but feel that perhaps I should be on a different thread and in a different forum. so here I am.

Why am I here, becuase as a bankrupt money is an obsessive worry, as I cannot get into debt ever again.
Families side, is becuase my twins have both come home to live with me, and they have both had babies.
So relationships and money are the reason.
I am on an uphill battle to keep my family safe and well, and to keep my sanity.
I have challenges to meet with the bills, with the benefits, and entitlements, and challenges to find a new home for us.
I hope that this is the area that I can vent my stuff, and that I can continue to find fabulous support, and get the money in order, keep it that way, and be able to provide the care and support my grandchildren, and children need.

I hope that this will keep me motivated and on the right course.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Hi Mooloo - I am inspired by your post and can only express my support in your drive to keep things going. Even though I am fairly new to posting, I have found that this site is a great way to keep yourself motivated and with a smile.

I hope that you find posting and getting advice will make your challenges that little bit easier. Keep going, keep posting and I wish you the best of luck through lifes many ups and downs.

    Vent away! :)

  • Hi Mooloo! :hello: *Waves from hypno's board!!*

Been thinking a while it might do you good to get your own board, sort of expected to see it on DFW though, I only stumbkled across this by accident. You might want to post a link to this on hypno's diary as I'm sure there are a lot of people who would want to follow how you're doing!

Anyway, short and sweet as I'm not even supposed to be here (shhhh!!) but have added this to my subscriptions and will be watching with interest.

Hiya Mooloo-I think your own thread is a great idea. I think it works in either (this) families board or DFW but with the challenge of the twins and their disabilities as well as the financial issues I think there are lots of people here who wil find your posts really interesting (and the DFWs will check in anyway if you post a link on Hypno's thread :) )
I have so much admiration for the way you are supporting your daughters and grandchildren despite having your own issues with trying to get back on your feet after your bancruptcy and as your story unfolds here I'm sure many others will too

Im not sure where yesterday really went. The Social Worker kindly gave me a lift to the mini meeting they were having over twin2 and BBJ, yesterday afternoon, saved me a taxi fare of around £8.
The bad news is that the funding for the taxi to the baby club has been cut and now Twin 2 will have to walk the half hour there each morning. But get a taxi home. So that didnt last long! The bus pass that was issued to the Dad so that he could get there and originally here, has also expired, and they are not sure they can refund it.
I have to now find the time to fill in a questionnaire on twin2's parenting skills, and let another social worker here to assess her, as well. More paperwork, the file is an lever arch one, and its not slim!! They are asking a lot of me at times.
The main meeting is going to happen next week, with solicitors etc there. Also the grandparents on the other side of the coin. Thats going to be interesting as they have issues with Social and some of you will know that they "ruined" Christmas becuashey refused to have twin2 and BBJ becuase they were not allowd an initial overnight stop. They also did the same on New Year. However today they have relented and twin2 and BBJ have gone over to them for the day.
Yipee, it gave me a day off. Of which I have been making good use!. Went shopping. Only thing is my MSE is obviously working cos I only spent £7.50.
    In disigner outlet shops too!
The council are saying no to a transfer and no to rehousing me with my girls:mad:
They have said that I will have to rent privately, even though they know that here in Oxford the rents are extausionate, and very few landlords with take people on benefits. Unless some miracle happens and someone out there knows of a minimum of 4 bedroomed house going? :rotfl: I wont hold my breathe!!
thanks to those of you who have followed me and given me the vote of confidence. Sometimes I think I am going mad. But today, I am happy as I had some freedom.
Now I wait tentatively for her return? Worried that they may try to keep her on an overnight, even though its not allowed. So I am clock watching!!

How do I do a link? No idea. But I will hop over to Hypno now before I do anything else. Missing MSE how strange is that. I didnt realise how long I was spending on here!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

  • :hello: Hi Moolo

I've followed you on Hypno's diary so now I will follow you on here.

Hopefully this will help you, if only to sound off, put your thoughts in order and get some clarity.

I am sure we will all offer some support too :D

I hope Twin2 is home soon so your nerves can rest.

Hi Mooloo, I am sure you will get lots of new and helpful support on this board too, but keep checking in on my diary to let us know how you are getting on!!

I hope that twin2 doesn't cause you too much concern this evening, and I am really glad that you managed to get some much needed time to yourself today.

Just rang up twin2 on her mobile to check she is coming home. They are on a bus back to town now. So it will be around 10pm before she gets back. She was told to be home for about 6. So thats not good for her first test alone with baby and boyfriend.

Thanks Hypno, glad you found me. I had no idea how to do a thread or a link. so I surprised myself how easy it was to start the thread. Not sure what board I should have done it in. but someone will tell me if I am in the wrong place.
Charlottes Income Support, child Tax credits and Child Benefit have been sorted out. Hurray. Letters came this morning. So least I can stop paying for all the food, baby stuff and everything else I have been forking out for. Should ease my purse strings a bit.

  • Do Social Services know that she is alone with boyfriend on the bus or is she being escorted on bus too? Have Social set out clear guidlelines about what is acceptable and what is not? Do they check that boyfriends family are keeping to their side of the bargain and not just trusting their son? Or am I completely getting the wrong end of the stick?

Sorry if that sounds nosey just tell me to shut and give only the facts that you want :o
