Do Social Services know that she is alone with boyfriend on the bus or is she being escorted on bus too? Have Social set out clear guidlelines about what is acceptable and what is not? Do they check that boyfriends family are keeping to their side of the bargain and not just trusting their son? Or am I completely getting the wrong end of the stick?

Sorry if that sounds nosey just tell me to shut and give only the facts that you want :o
Hi keeping Motivated. Social Services were told yesterday that they were going to go by bus together, unsupervised, as Boyfriends parents car had been vandalised. I said that I thought we had to take the chance this time, as they are very anti the Social, and if the visit had been cancelled it would be a big step back in thier involvement. It was a bit of a gamble in a way, but apart from the time element, which will have to be instilled in them again. I have been intouch with twin2 by mobile, and she is on her way back now. Phew. I was worrying then.
I fear the guidelines that were drafted before are very vague, and hard for me to incorporate. I do feel like either a gaoler or a snitch, but i know its necessary. We meet again on Thursday, and we?Social are hoping that his parents will come to this meeting, and they will then hear all the things about their son which may or may not be good, but will hopefully make them understand why babyJ is at risk!.I appreciate all your thoughts, as sometimes I forget what to ask about.
Thanks. Still waiting for her to get back, its a bit later than anticipated. Nervous granny now.

  • I hope everyone is home safe and sound by now.

Re 'forgetting what to ask' I hate to state the obvious but do you write a list of questions before they come?

Maybe you could write a list of questions on here and people could give you some input and suggestions that may/may not be of some use to add? I mean it is important to consider what is going to happen in the immediate future but this is obviously a very long term plan so what are the plans for that, if any, on the social services part?
  • Sometimes the obvious can easily be forgotten, especial has you have so much on your plate at the moment. I know when I was struggling to cope, I made list of what to say to whom. I felt awkward at the start of meeting, pulling out my piece of paper with my notes on, but it did ensure everything on my mind got aired.
You are an inspiration to us all.
  • I agree with GW and also could you take notes whilst in the meeting or can someone go with you to take notes? I say this because in stressful meetings alot of what is said can bypass you easily.

How were things when twin2 arrived home yesterday?

Hi everyone. Its been a bit of an up and down weekend for me. Twin 2 came home just after 10pm on Sat. I was unhappy. it meant his feed was late, and it took a while for the whole household to settle.
I didnt even get to come anywhere near the computer again until now. Yesterday my other DD came to visit. She took me to Tesco and I spent another £17.74 on shopping. Reckon I am spending more by going in bits, than I did when I had my tesco delivery. So think I will be going back to Tesco Delivery. She also cost me more as she saw the TV programme on food processing that a few people on here have been on about. I didnt see it. But I am now not allowed to Buy value eggs, or ham or chicken.!! So my grocery challenge is going to get tougher.
Twin2 has also completely stopped breastfeeding now, and so the milk has to be factored in. We do get Healthy start tokens so that does pay for most of it. Its just that that was paying for the fruit, and veg and milk for the household. Never mind I suppose we will get there.

I felt very guilty having time out to myself! How silly is that?
Unfortunately my health has not been so good this weekend, bit of a flare up since my last Physio and then to top it all I ran out of my Gabapentin, so I am having to use over the counter pain killers, and they are not touching my problems. I had to go to bed at 8pm last night. I just could hardly move!
This morning I hobbled around with the dog. No running for me today! He was a bit annoyed with me. It was ok yesterday as DS was home from school so he could do the running for me.
I am currently babysiting BBJ, as his mum has gone to Cash her Giro. She wanted to take him with her, but I know that the Dad would be loitering in town and so I cant let her take baby unless I go with her.

We had a visit from the Health visitor today. Just to check up that baby is fine etc. But because I am sore, I suppose I was a bit low, and I have to confess to being tearful, and telling her that life is unfair, and that the Social have let me down. Sorry to all Social workers I am not anti you, I am just having a bad day.
BBJ crying be back in a bit. Think Cup tea also needed while I move.

Chin up - you're doing brilliantly - we're all here to support you, so your not alone.
