Well I am glad that today has been and done!. It was so emotional and traumatic to be in a court. DS was terrified and actually shaking in his boots. We were lucky, thank you everyone for the vibes. They have put it down to a moment of madness and that the fear etc should be enough for him never to be so stupid again!. They have fined him (Well Me) £75 and given him a 12 month Probation order that he must attend certain duties and tasks. Which we will hear about later. For now we are home.
I am exhausted mentally and physically wiped out.
How I keep going is beyond me, what are they putting in Typhoo these days?
The Social Worker A, turned up at the court, not sure whether to be nosy or to offer support.? Social Worker C, came to the house this morning and set the twins the task of tidying up the "baby room" and is apparantly coming back at 5.30 to see that it is done. Twin1 was doing it when I got back and twin2 sitting on the floor in the usual sittingroom/kitchen with the babies. A room still not particularly sorted out. Twin1 said that she had done all the work and twin2 hadnt done anything, not bothering to get up even when I told her to. That means that BBJ didnt get a solids breakfast until after 10am. That is just not good enough.
I put the babies down last night, and the girls had gone out for a quiet drink in the local centre pub, I had hoped that they would sort out a few differences and be a bit better today with each other, but it appears not.
Social Worker A, told me that she is going to go to the Halifax with twin2 on Friday, and discuss the type of account the credit extended and the in appropriateness of it all for a girl with learning difficulties and limited understandings of the bank charges that they are about to impose on her.So I hope that she is successful in getting something sorted out. All she should really have is a cash card so that she can only draw out the cash that is available to her, and not a debit card to make a mess and run up debts.
I havent thought about the shop, I left instructions yesterday so I hope that the assistant will have followed them to some degree and things will be better when I go in on friday.
My parents are going to visit Biggest of Mooloos BF in MK hospital today. Apparantly he is going to have to have reconstructive surgery to his shoulder, but when is still not clear. I hope that now that DS has had his scary day in court, that things with him will be easier, and perhaps I will manage the drive to MK to visit DD's BF soon.
Tomorrow its the dentist to see if DS needs a brace or not..More expense? I hope it will be covered on the NHS if it is.
I am off searching the site now for information about the bankrupcy next moves etc. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hi Mooloo. Glad to hear that things went well in court, and hope it has all given DS food for thought and he will keep on the straight and narrow now. I'm very glad to read that the social workers are getting more involved with supporting the twins now - that is long overdue.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

I'm sure the court appearance will have been a short, sharp shock for your son. Unfortunately many young boys get into trouble because sadly that's the way they express their distress with their lives.
I know this is going to sound harsh and I'm sorry, but if twin2 is neglecting to feed her baby at the proper times it's a very serious matter. Will you tell the social worker this is happening?.....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

ITwin 2 gave the baby bottles, she didnt actually starve him. She just wanted to stay in her room away from the rest of the duties. But yes I tell the social all the thinks that we have to deal with. Social Worker C, came twice, she has just left. She went into the girls rooms, and checked that they had done what they had been asked to do. She and Social Worker A are going to share the duties of visiting to make sure that things have been done. They have now referred the girls to something called floating support and someone they hope will be coming on a daily basis for an hour to support the girls. Today the baby room was re created, (mostly) and tomorrow they are to finish it, and to take responsibilities for thier bedrooms etc. There has also been a meeting with the Learning Disabilities team, asking for them to review the twins, and to see if there is any support that they can give. They have also been requesting something called Oxpen, which is usually not available to young mothers who live with their families, but they have discussed that this is a very different situation then they have had before and that they would not be happy for the girls to live on thier own at the moment, and that if I say enough is enough there is nothing that they can do about it. So they are starting to attempt to throw as many resources as possible to keep them at home. (Is it to help me or to save money??? Well what ever it is, if it works then I will be glad.) I cannot face looking after them all forever!. We are trying to use this time as a transition time into thier own life. (least thats what they said today.)When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0

SO glad to hear that DS got a short sharp shock, actually GLAD to hear he was shaking in his boots, and hope that he doesn't get overwhelmed with relief and think that he got away with it after all!
Does he have a job? Can he get a paper round? DS2 used to do the Sunday papers - £5 for an hour's work - and the freebie - £10=£15 pw, and DS1 used to deliver our local evening paper after school. I realise it could be impractical to do one before school.
but I'm just thinking that it's HIS fine, not yours, and even if you pay it now then he should repay you. Also did you ask about instalments? I believe that's usually possible, although of course you may have just done it to get it over with!
Also it would be worth talking to both his probation officer and Connexions about the possibility of getting a job. It might give him a focus which school may not manage, IYSWIM.Tomorrow its the dentist to see if DS needs a brace or not..More expense? I hope it will be covered on the NHS if it is.
Shout if you can't find the right threads and I'll do a link, but I ought to be cooking tea (would be if anyone had washed up but I can't move in the kitchen!) before going out!Signature removed for peace of mind0
