Etoro free £100 shares

I've opened a GBP account, but the email sent afterwards says "Note: If you make your first deposit to eToro using your GBP account, those funds will be automatically converted and transferred to your USD account." So do I need to move the funds back to the GBP account to qualify for the free share?

No. When I went to deposit it bought a pop up giving me options. From memory the top two options were Bank Transfer in GBP, followed by card in USD with an exchange rate.

I selected the instant Bank Transfer in GBP and it opened a GBP account for me. Just the click of a button.

I made a GBP deposit by instant Bank Transfer and the funds went to my GBP account.

Looking back over the bombardment of emails from eToro I can see the same Note you had. It's not what happened in my case though.

BEWARE.........The ONLY downside I can see to receiving a free £100 for 2 minutes work are the 9 separate emails eTorro sent me within hours of opening the account......Perhaps there will be more emails tomorrow and the day after etc.....blooming ridiculous.

I’m sure people are aware that if you choose Spacex, all you’re receiving is a fraction of 1 (one) share…roughly 50%.
Ditto with Nvidia.

They will have to perform very well to get any sort of return from it!

It doesn't make any difference whether the £100 buys 0.0001 of a share or 1000 shares - the same percentage growth delivers the same return on that initial stake…

Surely a fraction of something is better than a heap of nothing. £200 taken out of my savings that might have returned me £10 or £12 in interest at the end of a year seems like a good call if I'm going to get more than that back after 90 days.
