Just a heads up

Just opened Etoro via mse link to claim £100 free shares if you deposit £200

I added Initial small payment to check it worked ok

Then sent second payment to make up to £200

However it appears that only the first payment is accepted so needs to be £200 to qualify for free shares

Therefore I have just wasted my time ...

unfortunately this is stated in the T&Cs

It being clarified that only the first deposit made to your eToro Account shall count towards the eligibility of the Welcome Bonus

glad i saw your post before i made mine.

How did you deposit? it tells me minimum $500 for bank transfer so guess by debit card, did it charge you in £ or $?

Open up a GBP account first before depositing, then its £200 via bank transfer.

yep i opened a gbp account first aswell

I just read the mse offer which says need to fund £200 , but does not say in one transaction

I did not notice the first payment has to be £200 in t&c's after reading

May be worth adding to mse link details to say this as not obvious

I just took money out and had issues with payments failing , finally after multiple attempts have got money out

waste of an hour time

another gotcha : if you were thinking of opening accounts for 2 separate people at same address only one reward per house hold

I sent £200 by instant bank transfer, the £100 shares came within minutes.

You don't have to invest the £200, I'm gonna keep the money on the cash account and after 90 days I can sell the share and decide to withdraw: I went for Nvidia share and had it almost immediately.

What did I do wrong?

I opened an account using the link; ticked the option saying I was interested in shares (and none of the others); and made an initial payment of £200.

I can see my funds in my account, but there has been no mention of the Welcome bonus. Yet the T and Cs say: "As part of the registration process, you will be offered to select a stock (as detailed in Appendix A)
from a list provided by us that you would like to be added to your eToro Account for free (the "Qualified
Stocks")."

You could buy units in the ETFs CSH2 (basically a Bank rate tracker) or ERNS (short duration government and corporate bonds) and earn c.4% pa.
