Applied and deposited £200 in my wallet and the free share has just been purchased. Also downloaded the app.

I followed the link, filled in the forms, paid in £200 - never got asked which shares I wanted.
No idea what I did wrong. Waiting for chat function to wake up, keep going around in circles to ask them but the chat keeps getting closed on me.
Any ideas (on the missing shares)?

Is anybody investing the £200? Curious as to what in!

I've clicked on the MSE link which takes me to an etoro page, but when I click on the 'claim your share' it takes me to a blank page with the etoro logo in top left. What am I missing? Have folk been using the log in link at top right to gain access?

My £200 deposit went into the USD account and I got my free share, which i have sold. I wasn't aware to create a GBP account first to deposit into.
Anyway, I've now opened a GBP account and when I try to move the funds from USD to GBP account I get an error message. Anyone else having issues?

This is an interesting business model for etoro. They give $100 worth of share to x amount of people, who sign up. Where's their return?

Changed browser and it worked ok. Opened a GPB account as others advised, deposited £200 and the free shares appeared almost immediately.

As it was free money I went for a fraction share in Space X

It's worse than that, earlier this year they gave me (and lots of others $500).
Not really a business model, more a novel marketing method.
Their hope is that enough people who join for the freebie will stick around and conduct further investment/savings business with them.

Not sure it's really all that novel - surely it's much the same principle as all the other financial institutions offering joining/switching/transfer incentives for current/investment accounts/pensions, on the basis that they believe enough of the attracted customers will ultimately become revenue generators?
