I’m interested in signing up for this. I currently access the MSE forum through my browser (ie I haven’t downloaded the MSE app). Would it be advisable to do this through the app (after downloading it), or safe enough to do via the link I currently have open?

Also, if I proceed now, would I be able to view all the info in the app if I decide to download it at a later date?

In other words, it doesn’t matter in the slightest which way i do it.

I didn't get the asset selection screen. I got something about crypto and I had to select what type I wanted (I didn't want any of them but went with Bitcoin). Then I had to sit what seemed to be a 'mini exam' on crypto to continue. Deposited the £200 and put it in the investment account, but the £100 never materialised.

Not sure what happened. It started off ok and there was a mention of the £100, but it seemed to veer off course. I also got an email saying there was an error delivering my crypto, so I guess I lost out on that too.

Will probably just withdraw the cash and forget about it if the £100 doesn't show up by the end of the day.

Mine went ok and I got the free shares.

But then I looked at things to invest the £200 in, and nearly everything seems to warn me it's a CFD and the risks are high? Even indices and ETFs ?

I opened my eToro account with my £200 deposit now held in a cash a/c, selected my £100 of Space X share and that's all I intend to do for the next 90 days. Then I'm going to sell/cash/withdraw the lot and put it somewhere else.

The £100 didn't show up and was never going to. Withdrew my money and closed the account. Lost £2.72 in conversion fees. Didn't like it anyway.

After you've signed up, sleceted your free share and one the account verification, you then need to deposit your £200. At that point it offers you to open a GBP account.

I did it all in Chrome on my laptop. I don't use the MSE app.
