Etoro free £100 shares

I clicked the MSE link to open an account eith eToro but was never offered any free shares, even after transferring in £200. After querying it they did an investigation and then I got an email saying I was "not eligible", with no further explanation.

Anyone yet managed to sell their free share and at least convert the USD proceeds back into GBP (not talking about actually withdrawing it, just consolidating into the GBP wallet)?

Done, earned few quid, and bought again a fraction of the same share at a lower price.

You should be able to sell/close the trade and opt to put the proceeds straight to the GBP wallet for a small fee:
The screenshots are from my account where I am waiting for the Amazon share to at least not lose me any of the £100 bonus. On my wifes account, she sold an Apple share and has £301 in her GPB wallet.

possible that I missed that one… anyway it's in USD right now and it may have to stay there for now. No great hardship, but when you could get £500 for 5 minutes work, this seems like a faff for £100 🤣

Me neither. After I spoke to CS, they told me to wait a week. So I did. They are now telling me to wait another week. 🙄

i have cashed in my "stock". my account now stands at £200GBP cash and £100ish "$ investment account". i see the wallet options and am trying to transfer to my cash balance account but i keep getting an error.
is this a matter of having to wait the 90 days? i know when i closed the trade i had the option and chose to recieve the funds in GBP as per crumpet_mans post above.

I had no reply from etoro as to why I am "not eligible", not a trustworthy company at all. No idea why MSE are promoting this. I closed the account and got my deposit back - such a waste of time.

I'm in, £200 deposit, easy application, free shares added quickly. I picked the only ETF in the list, as everything else is at considerable highs (and with good reason too). Can't say I like the app over 212. It's also not an S&S ISA, you're instantly hit with the advert to a site that is an ISA (etoro Moneyfarm), which i went to join thinking I'll eventually switch the free shares over, only to realise it has fees. So to get the ISA benefits you need to pay (unlike 212), which if you avoid etoro and go direct to moneyfarm, you get cheaper so not sure the benefits there. People might miss this having the etoro fee free mentality and the etoro name attached to that moneyfarm. I will still keep the free shares outside an ISA thanks to 3k cgt allowance and i might grow to like the app, to early to be sure on that.

How is the bonus treated for tax purposes, is it tax free like the bank switching intro cash?
TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0
