Thanks for replying, @Phones4Chris . I appreciate that the Teaser plans are not available to purchase
anymore as they have been discontinued. What I don't understand is the expiry date that people have been mentioning.and crucially is my £15 plan about to end.

I'm not sure if you have the answers but are you able to clarify my understanding ….?

After re-reading some posts, it seems people are either talking about plans which have actual end dates or plans that gave you a monthly allowance for a one off price (or gotten free to those who got them early on) which didn't specify an expiry date So there are therefore 2 expiry dates being discussed here depending on which camp you belong to. One with an expected expiry date based on the plan that was bought and one where the expiry date is the expiry date for that month's allowance for plans that didn't specify an expiry date. Is this correct?

For those plans with no expiry date, is RWG now imposing a 5 year expiry date from when the sim was activated? I see people are talking about 5 years in their posts. I think I got my £15 Teaser SIM in 2022 so have I got until 2027 before it comes to an end? And has the 5 year expiry been confirmed by RWG?

I managed to log onto their website and the expiry date for my plan is showing September 2026 which ties up with when my allowance starts again. I can't see anything about when my plan will end. My plan has an auto renew slider which I don't understand what its for. If I understand what you wrote, does it do nothing and therefore
    just leave it off?

What is even more confusing is that some people are seeing expiry dates changing from 2027 to 2026. I wonder if the 2027 date relates to when it'll be 5 years from when their sim was activated and then RWG changed it to the expiry date of their current month's allowance instead.

@Lad The original Teaser Plans didn't have an expiry, but the Ts&Cs allowed RWG to change/withdraw these things if they chose. They did, and they put a 5 year life on them, but didn't tell anyone AFAWK, people only discovered when logging-in/registering accounts etc. It was mentioned in some posts and people then asked CS who confirmed it to me and others going by their posts.

After RWG first updated their site in May, Those Plans were showing the 5 years expiry date, which for many was in 2027 as, like me (and you it seems) they'd got them at some point in 2022. You could still buy new ones since May, £2 p/month for the 100/100/750 if you hadn't already got one.

When these Teaser plans were actually withdrawn with the last recent site update, they started showing an August 1st expiry date, again no one seems to have been told what was going on, so calls to CS wanted to know what happened and they explained that the expiry now showing was for the current monthly cycle and not when the Plan actually finished for an individual customer.

For me it's actually August 2027, if you want to know yours the ring CS and ask.
It would therefore seem that the Auto Renew has no effect (at present) for these Teaser Plans and it's pure guesswork as to whether they ever will for these Teasers. (I haven't asked CS as it's possible they may have overlooked this and it may work in the future at the previous advertised price for New Teaser Plans before they were withdrawn - £2 p/month for the plan we have).

Thanks @Phones4Chris that's a perfect explanation 😊At least it gives me peace of mind knowing that I got until next year to figure what I should do. The lowest price currently is £5 per month which puts RWG in the same price bracket as Lebara and and 1p Mobile (you have to pay £10 per 90 days and pay the calls/text/data on top but for my usage it works out about the same). I often get connectivity issues so switching providers may help. Customer service is also not as good as it was in the early days.

What I was worried about was that my plan had ended without me knowing when I checked my balance on the phone and it didn't work and then reading these posts about Teaser expiry dates.

When these original Teaser plans end after 5 years, did CS tell you what needs to be done to keep your number if you were to stay with them? I think I read someone mention that a new sim will need to be bought and a PAC requested to transfer the number to it but I can't seem to find that post. However, it doesn't sound right to me as you'll still be with RWG just on a different plan.

People were questioning how long these original Teaser plans will last when they came out but it seems we have the answer now!

@Lad, Recently when I was considering the £2 teaser bundle the t&c said you would need a new SIM and to port your number to RWG.

The £5 RED bundle that is available and the cheapest one they offer now says the following.

    1 - Delivery, Setup & Coverage
SIM Delivery: Order before 3 PM for same-day dispatch via Royal Mail. Expect your SIM in 1-3 business days (subject to postal network conditions or strikes).

Keeping Your Number: Once your RWG SIM is activated, you can request to port your old number. Request before 5 PM for a next-working-day transfer (requests after 5 PM take 2 working days).

@2010 As I mentioned before a CS agent said that shouldn't happen (if you are logged in etc.) BUT IF you already have an active Plan/Bindle many (if not all) the Plan options are dimmed out, so if you end up picking one from the Home page it could likely result in a new SIM BUT it's all very well what the Ts&Cs say, it's a case of suck it and see. Start the process and see what it's doing, you don't have to make a final approval, you can exit/cancel before the final stage.

In any case, if one already has an active (freebie) Teaser and all you actually want is an Add-On, as they don't appear to be such plans on the site at present, it's best to phone CS and see if they can add one on manually.

On the 5 year life mentioned sometimes, may I ask whether this is actual experience, a guess or assumption, or based on something stated by the company?

To date, no one who's on the free bundle has been cut yet that we know of.

My 5 year expiry date for the free bundle is on Friday, I'll post what happens then.

@redux To be clear, the 5 year life on the freebie (Teaser) bundles is fact, stated to me be CS agents and others going by their posts. If you want to know when yours actually expires, phone CS and ask.

Is that certainly a 5 year thing, or just the regular monthly bundle expiring on 7th of each month, like some other posts here?
