RWG's New Website, Plans and new Charges

Anyone thinking of moving if the free bundle expires in August and wants to port their number needs the SIM to be active to do so.
Next to the free bundle on my account is an auto renew button and when I click it they want details of my bank account.
(it doesn't say any amount or what the plan is)
I emailed them to enquire if the free bundle could be renewed and the reply was the plan is no longer available but I can choose another from their current ones if I wanted to stay with RWG.
What we all really want to know is will the free bundle actually expire in August .
Mine tops up on the 7th of each month and my expiry shows the 7th August 2026.

One way of topping up, without giving them your bank details, would be to purchase a Now Mobile voucher in a shop. It no longer mentions this on the RWG website, but it's still a method of topping up if you dial 669.
Presumably the "auto renew" option would not ask for bank details if the account had sufficient credit to renew the bundle? Can anyone confirm if that is the case?

They asked for upto date bank details when they updated the website a couple of months ago. In order to login to view the new website you had to give bank details or it wouldn't let you log in.
Of course the one thing we are all forgetting is that t&Cs apply and I expect somewhere back in there terms when we all got our excellent bundle. It probably had a clause that said we can pull the tariff at anytime, even without warning. So the fact that we were all assuming it was 5 years ish from the point we purchased our deals a few months ago and now they've probably checked there own small print and done a u turn leaves us with no leg to stand on.

When my free bundle ends 26th aug,i want to top up my £2 a month out of my credit, but on website you cant do it, they want my card details, so il b texting ukrwg1 to 669,and they take it off my credit balance .
I think you can ring now mobile, and they will take it off your credit, and not your card.
The auto renew, still asks for card details, even though iv got credit on sim

@alanjones60 thanks for confirming that auto renew still asks for card details even when in credit.
When you text the bundle code to 669 to renew, do you just include the code only, without any other words?
In the case of the ”free" £5 and £15 bundles, the auto renew button is there, but I simply don't know how long it would renew for, even if I was willing to provide card details.
@ScratchyCat That's interesting. I also had to re-register my details, as it wouldn't recognise my login from 2022, but I did not have to provide bank details. I just had to enter a verification code sent by email and text.

Yes. Ukrwg1,and you get a text back confirming you have the bundle for 30 days

I suspect that the Auto Renew on these expiring bundles and also Texting of the previous code is an oversight by RWG, so best not to shout about it or mention to CS and take advantage whilst it's still there.

Yes of course the SIM needs to be active to Text for a PAC, BUT it doesn't become "inactive" just because your Bundle/Plan has expired. I'm not sure if the SIM needs credit or a plan to text for a PAC because the text is free anyway. You can always phone and ask for a PAC, it's a long time ago since I texted any MVNO/MNO for a PAC and I suspect I may have had about 1p credit remaining at the time!
Actually it's not asking for "details of my bank account" when wanting payment, it's asking for Debit/Credit Card details which is not an unusual thing for any online transaction, you can also set-up PayPal payment.

Well a bit of an update - according to the agent I spoke to this afternoon, who called himself Alex, whether that was his real name or not, who knows, I got loads and loads of apologies but no real answers to the other issues in my previous formal complaint but he'd send an urgent reminder to the relevant department to respond within 2 days! We'll see.
Now as far the Bundles/Plans that are expiring and no longer listed, they will not be available to new customers (presumably after 1st August) and if you have one and let it expire he said it won't be available again. BUT he said IF you renew it before expiry, you'll be able to continue to have it (no mention of for how long!!).
So I presume for example my Teaser 100/100/750 will become the £2 p/m as previously listed. (I haven't yet decided whether for my low usage it's economically sensible or whether just to use data at 1p/MB and add a large bundle when I need loads of extra data).0 -
Hmmm, my plan is shown as 'UK Teaser' (100/100/750) and IIRC was originally a one-off payment of £15. So what happens to that on expiry (both if I choose to renew or not renew)?
