There's plenty DECT models available - but they certainly don't fit 'flush' to the wall....

  • Hi everyone

i have just started a new business so our dodgy old house phone is off to freecycle and we need to get a new one. i need it to be cordless and have an answer machine i could also do with one which lets you assign ringtones to people so i know if its a personal call or not.

any ideas , it needs to be a bargain too !

  • I have a Panasonic Digital which has a base set with an answerphone built in.

It's a great phone with a huge memory for numbers and small handset. The battery lasts for ages, I ring South Africa weekly and chat for 3 hrs without the battery going. It also comes with an earpiece so you plug it into the handset and don't have to actually hold the phone. I just clip it onto my trousers and walk about with it.

I switch it off during the day when I'm at work and only charge it maybe once a week, sometimes less and have had it for about three years so the battery is definately good and the signal is great. I have a studio flat and have even used it on the stairs (one flight downstairs) from my flat.

The thing I like about it the most lol, is that on the base you can press a button that rings so you know where the phone is if you put it down and cannot find it lol.

Just not sure how expensive or cheap it is as I bought it a long time ago, but it's a fantastic little phone. And you can assign different ringtones to different numbers.

    Cheers

  • Oh yes, forgot to add that it also has a speakerphone feature in the base so even if the phone battery runs out you can always use the base, and it has caller ID obviously lol and the handset also has a loudspeaker option. Can you tell I love my phone yet lol?

  • want to buy a new cordless phone for my landline [twin] but need one that i use a head set with,so that i can use hands free whilst walking round the house. I work from home using the phone an awful lot. Hope someone will advise me on the best possible ones.
  • Or use this one and search for phones with a headset port, I've used both websites and can recommend.

The best phone with headset port that I've used is a fairly basic BT Synergy one, can't remember the number and while its not the best looking phone compared to nowadays it works well with a headset. You can also buy from telephonesonline via Ebay.

edit, just checked and its a BT Diverse 6210!

Panasonic which are well recommended in this thread also have models with a headset port and available on Argos if I remember correctly.
