seriously need help from someone that knows …

We purchased a 3 seater and 2 seater suite from SCS instore in December 2025, it was delivered to us on 25th March 2026, Wednesday just gone. then the problems started.

On delivery day, the delivery man noticed that the power headrest on 1 seat was not working, he undid some staple on back and said the mechanism was not in position ? he tampered around and it seemed to drop into place he took photos and said he had to report it straight away and someone from aftercare would contact us.

on Thursday morning in daylight we started to notice some problems, one seat had a long inch wide and high "lump" through the centre (seat never sat on) it feels like two pieces of foam has been joined together but have raised up. The 2 seater seemed to look strange and one side was 3inches off the ground, the other was just on an inch, it seems as though the recliner mechanism is balancing it out ??

i kept saying main sofa seat i was using was not right, when i get up there is stretch marks and pooling and the fixed cushion seems to be sinking towards the back corner and the cushion does not regain shape

lots of other "faults" i have documented.

we went into store but assistant said we would have to fill out a form online, which i did but it does not give space to explain the problems, just generic questions. i have sent the allowable 6 photos.

reading their terms and conditions, we have scared ourselves silly that we have entered a credit agreement and paid £1000 deposit for what is so poor quality

any advice what we should do now ?

many thanks

I

It would be helpful for you to document what is wrong with the items and to take photographs as well.

I would keep a separate and complete records of the faults you identify along with photos to show them, and notify them on their website that there is insufficient space to note all the faults, and why the goods are not accepted.

If you have entered into a credit agreement as well you may also find that S75 Consumer Credit Act rights also apply - which may well also work in your favour.

reading their terms and conditions, we have scared ourselves silly that we have entered a credit agreement and paid £1000 deposit for what is so poor quality

Now that is good news, as it also holds lender jointly liable.

    Which SCS sofa is it?

It is quite hard to understand the faults that you describe from the textual description. Can you set out a simple list of the issues and photos so that they can be better understood?

The clear issue as noted by the delivery team is the incorrect recliner headrest function. That will probably be resolved if SCS are given adequate time.

Then there is an issue with a cushion which is probably easily remedied in so far as cushions can be swapped out by SCS.

Then the description of something being 3" high which is difficult to visualise, especially as this thing being 3" different from what it should be was not immediately obvious at delivery.

That does seem to be a difference between the two sides, but maybe not as much as the 2" difference suggested by the first post. As you say, it is hard to see in the photos.

Does the sofa frame have adjustable feet?
