"Set-up transfer to yourself not Barclay, probably why coop blocked."

It was, I only wrote Barclays because it was intended to transfer to that bank. The payee was my name.

Maybe the chickens blocked it from their coop?

Their website says that once you have met all the conditions, they will send you a text to let you know you have qualified for the switch, then they will make the payment within 45 days.

Has anyone had the text yet to confirm they qualify?

I'm not sure many will have got that far yet. I have a switch completion date of 8th April. Immediately after that, I will pay in the £2,000, and see what happens.

I’m thinking of taking up the Barclays switch offer. Does anyone know if the £2000 paid into the account as one of the switch conditions have to remain in the account or can it be paid in and then transferred out. In other words does the account have to maintain a balance of at least £2000?
    Thanks

Like the Hokey Cokey, in and out is fine. But be careful about moving £2k in and out in quick succession, if this is what you plan on doing, as it may flag as suspicious on their system.

My switch completed today, from an account with two active direct debits. Tomorrow, I plan to pay in £2000.

At no point in any of this process, has the switching bonus been mentioned.

From memory of a previous switch I had to leave the money in for a day as the security algorithms blocked the movement out and then the bank called me and started asking the sort of questions you know you should not give out!

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

So, I've now added the £2,000. I've done everything as specified.

I will leave it there for a couple of weeks, and see if anything happens.

Does the £2000 need to be transferred in after the switch completes or can it move with the switch?

Either would work. It just needs to be within 30 days off completing the switch. That's according to the terms and conditions.
