Withdrawals are via Cheque .

@gt94sss2 "You can just open a new RS once your existing account matured.Coop are not the quickest at opening new accounts so there is no benefit to trying to close and reopen an account as some here do."
Co-operative RS
Thanks. It was with a view to renewing in case they decided to withdraw the current RS and offer another lower-rate version of the RS. (I'm aware it's variable, regardless.)

Thank you for the information.

Withdrawal requires postal instructions along with passbook. Cheque or CHAPS (chargeable) only.
If you enclose a letter asking nicely along with your application they might send you a Freepost envelope or two.

For Mansfield BS you can also request withdrawals by internal transfer and they do have a few online accounts that allow free faster payments to a nominated account.
At present all their online accounts are ither Fixed term bonds or notice accounts but it could be one to keep an eye on if they ever do launch an online easy access account in the future.

MANSFIELD B.S. MY MILESTONE SAVER 6%
Ah this is fortuitous since I was meaning to ask about this. I successfully opened this by post, got the account number and payed in by transfer. That went in on the 02-Feb, and I added the account to online banking no problem and can see the Milestone saver and the deposit.
Just one snag: forgot I didn't get the passbook in the post yet. The post around here has been terribly slow all year, often things taking over a week to arrive - but I am meant to get a passbook, and this is way too long right? It must have got lost?

Me too, I opened by post but did not include a cheque, I had a letter saying I would get my passbook when I have funded the account. Well I then funded by bank transfer on the 3rd Feb but still no passbook.
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.1 -
My passbook took over 2 weeks to arrive after opening. I had access to the Milestone RS online within a day or 2 and then added the MRS account number so that I could see what was happening whilst waiting for my passbook. As for withdrawl / closure, it is possible to email them instructions for funds to be sent to your nominated bank account which is on file with MBS, if the nominated account option isn't available in the withdrawl drop-down menu.

Thanks both - reassuring to know it's not just me/the postal system. It sounds like they could just be being slow in that case - or maybe there's going to be a later process for those of us who funded by bank transfer.
Not a big deal to be honest, especially if I don't actually ultimately need the passbook to withdraw at the end (pretty sure I set up a nominated account that would be fine to receive). If I never need it I'm not sure I even want the thing! I'll hold off calling them and asking for now.

My second Mansfield deposit went in on 2nd Feb by BACS. I received my passbook a couple of days ago, along with a prepaid envelope (didn't request this, they just sent it).
