Happy to be corrected but I think this is the first time in recent years that NatWest / RBS have offered a better rate for new customers that can't be obtained by their existing customers - wonder if they expect any backlash?

So existing customers who can qualify for the offer are customers who opened a current or a savings account between midnight 17th Feb to the time of the launch of the offer?

Cumberland First Home Saver Issue 2 at 4% has now been removed form p1 of this thread owing to it falling to below the thresholds for inclusion tomorrow.

Natwest 7% Regular Saver offer.
So l did have a Natwest account back in early 2025, which was itself a switch from Nationwide . So l wouldn't be eligible if l just wanted to switch in (just a basic switch)from another provider and then open the Regular Saver with the bonus% on top?

If it was part of a switch offer in 2025 then you'd be ineligible.
It's worth noting that there is also a designated thread for the NatWest/RBS switching offer so I would prefer any discussion about the switching offer be confined to its designated thread so that this thread can remain dedicated to regular savers. See link below:

Would the RBS 7% RS boost account work if you just open up a current account and not switch from another bank?

No, you can't have the 5.25% Digital Regular Saver without a current account in the first instance.

by existing customers they refer to people who have other products with them or have had current / savings accounts in the past and no longer do. Anyone in that situation (and not had a switch bonus too) and have opened an account from midnight on the 17th until the end of the offer is eligible for the 7% RS by following the steps.

By not have had a switch offer before, I assume it is therefore a grey area if someone only has accounts with one of NatWest or RBS, having had a switch offer from that brand. While some have managed to get incentives from both, I suspect there would be no grounds for complaint if the person met the terms with the brand they were not a customer of and then weren't paid the 7% (as to my knowledge the switching terms refer to the group.)
