Given it's only a few days, it may make most sense to refresh on Mon 30th or Tues 31st March in order to get a second payment into the new account at the beginning of April.

thanks. I do not however want to be paid more interest within the current tax year, so I can’t refresh it until the 2026/2027 tax year has started 😊

@UKX69 Spreadsheets - now you’re talking! 🤗
Haha! My interest perks up at the mention of spreadsheets, too! Don't know why, though, as I'm useless at them. A wannabe, I guess!

I agree that is what the terms say. But my online account states interest will be paid 31-Mar-2026 (and I presume at maturity also)
A moot point for me though. Monmouthshire cooked their goose when they stopped accepting online applications for their RS. Now App / branch / agency only.
Plenty more fish in the sea / banks on the internet.

Why can't / won't you use the app?

Where abouts are you seeing this please?

I presume you mean the March date?
Using online banking (no idea if it's on the app, sorry)
Then click on the 'details' button for the applicable account
Then click on 'more information?' at the top of the screen

Because I do not possess the necessary hardware to run an app.
Yes there are app emulators, and whilst they may run games perfectly well, my experience is that they are not really suited to running banking apps.
- Some banks apps just block the use of emulators (because of perceived security issues)
- If the app will run on an emulator, it often does not run well or some functions are unavailable
Perhaps a more appropriate question would be to ask Monmouthshire why can't/won't they let me apply online anymore. They have an online platform, and indeed it was once possible to open an account online (that's how I opened mine) but then they decided to stop allowing it… but only for the RS account. All their other accounts can still be opened online.

I've had a few regular savers with them over the years where the terms have said interest is to be paid at maturity, online banking says interest is paid 31st March, and interest wasn't paid in March and instead paid at maturity as per their Ts&Cs.

Ah, I'll scrub that date from my records then.
Monmouthshire wouldn't be Monmouthshire without their quirks.
