Tipton. Just call them. I've had occasion to call them a fair amount (app problems) and apart from first thing in the day, I've been able to get through right away. They'll be happy to help.

I've had no problem funding my Buckinghamshire regular saver from my Lloyds current account.

Are you saying that you managed to open an account with Progressive as a new customer without photo ID?

If you can get them to sort the app of course; I wouldn’t want to agree to close the branch/post one only for them to fail to sort what is obviously an isolated issue.

Thank you - this is very wise advice☺️ Will hold off doing anything until this is sorted:-)

Progressive
As an existing customer it would seem "Started applying, online form asked if I'm already a member, checked yes & was directed to log in & apply…"
I wasn't so lucky, but had some prior notes on how to get Onfido to accept my ID doc (after multiple prior failed attempts)

No problems at all with my RBS account - which AFAIAA is exactly the same back office as NatWest.

Progressive:
I seem to've been rather lucky then, got them to fix my online banking login issues, was able to apply as an existing customer without any ID checks.
Then again I had to go through that rigmarole when one of my Regular Rainy Day RSs matured in June 2025 as I'd tried opening a new one before closing the EA account the old one and it didn't like my ID for whatever reason.
Touch wood though the maturities I had with them this June went without a hitch, I've got another RS with them maturing next month so I'm hoping that's plain sailing too.

Thank you - I have just managed to 'renew' and re-open. Took a few minutes only.
