Yes it is possible, as if you don't have valid photo ID, they can work with some alternatives. However, it is a very manual process and may involve posting original / certified copies to them. In my experience, even though the product I originally applied for as a new member had gone NLA, they still honoured the application and did some back office work to make is so. I've always found Progressive CS to be very helpful and I am not resident in NI.

Well I am an existing member where I kept £101 in a Online Instant Saver account which matured from a Regular Saver in January this year.

On Monday morning I opened the new Monthly Saver without being asked for any ID. I funded it by internal transfer from the Instant Saver £100.

I then logged out of Progressive, and faster paid into my online Instant Saver another £100 from my bank and logged back in Progressive and internal transferred another £100.

So balance of £200 in my new Regular Saver and £1 in my Online Instant. No ID needed and one of the easiest regular savers I've opened.

Leeds Building Society have launched a new regular saver:

Leeds BS Branch & Post Member Regular Saver, paying 6.50% (variable rate):

• Pay in up to £250 per month
• Minimum opening amount is £100
• Maximum investment is £3,000
• The account matures on 1st November 2027
• 1 penalty-free withdrawal permitted per calendar year (including account closure)
• Available to open via branch or post
• To qualify existing members must have continuously held a Leeds BS savings account or mortgage since 31st December 2025.

It seems you are one of the lucky few. I had multiple issues with RBS over this. So I gave up with RBS and tried with the Halifax — so far, all good with Halifax…

I'm wondering if LBS have accepted images of a paper application via email in the past ? I've just been through all my past LBS emails and I have not done this. I've been able to complete all my past LBS applications wholly online. I'm also wondering if an online only version may appear alongside the Branch and Post version ?

I've never been asked to:

Complete my Full name with the example using an initial.

Complete my Up to date phone number - surely noone would write in an old one?

Complete my Up to date email address- surely noone would write in an old one?

I think the representative is either misinformed or not telling you the truth. I can confirm that I have both accounts and they show slightly different in name to distinguish them (one has App a the end of it), I believe someone else reported on here the same.

Ahh! Thats what I thought but she indicated that they were the same (I did tell her that they had different names appended to the end but then said they’re still the same…she tried to get me to close one down but I said I would get back)

Leeds. I just called and asked if they will accept email applications. The representative that I spoke with wasn't sure but did check. He came back to me to say that they have to be sent by post. So that's probably correct.

But I did find a Freepost address on the Leeds website. I won't post it here but it was easy to find.
