I had an issue yesterday evening, first passcode did not come through had to wait 5 mins then requested a second code which did come through. First time I've had this problem.

For what it's worth, I've just tried to login and no passcode has arrived, so it does look like an issue to me.

There was an issue with the codes sometime in the last couple of weeks, they weren't coming through to my phone, and eventually the website displayed a "routine maintenance" message when I tried to sign in (possibly in response to people phoning Principality to say they weren't receiving the codes). Later in the day it was working as normal.

When did that happen? My old one matured on 1st Feb, and I started the new one the same day without noticing. The guide on here still shows as 12 months, but I can see you're correct.

The 6 month term was not mentioned on their website as it was at 15th January:

It's unfortunately a regular hit or miss experience. I have had frequent examples dating back to August last year.
(I only first became a customer in July 2025)
You should receive the text eventually. Worst case example was a delay of about 12 hours, but to be fair the last 8 hours of that was due to me turning my phone off. But the text had not been delivered within 2.5 hours of request.
(I had wondered if it was my network provider causing the delay, but I can/do receive OTP texts without delay from others whilst waiting for Principality texts to arrive)
There is no obvious pattern to when the delays occur. It can be anytime of the day, any day of the week so not as though they have a quota of texts they are granted to send per day, etc.
It does resolve itself. On good days/times I usually receive texts within 15-20 seconds from them, but always a small delay. If at first, (or rather second as the second attempt can sometimes trigger the receipt of both texts) you don't succeed, give it about 6 hours or so and try again.

My experience is that several texts requested last Sunday 1st Feb have not yet been received. I don't think they ever will be.

I agree, very poor show all round. @MSE_Petar @MSE_Abby tagging you guys in case you have an interest in what's going on here, and the misuse of the 'MSE best buy' claim.
