re: Saffron - i've been a member since February 2023 when I opened a My Saver account with £1 - apart from 1 week in Aug 2023 where the balance temporarily went to £10000 (for reasons I cannot remember), the balance of that account has never gone over £11.12… there were other accounts opened that would have had £10 or £20 balances - but definitely, other than that one week in August 2023, I had not had a balance anywhere near £100 with Saffron.
when I opened the Member's Month Loyalty account in June 2024, I qualified to open it… similarly, in June 2025, I qualified too when the 2024 issue matured and I opened the later version.
… checking the archived links to the product, for 2025 issue, it says…
This is a members only account. You must have been a member with us since 1 June 2024 to be eligible for this account.
I think the definition of "membership" for this account is simply to have a continuous existing funded savings / mortgage account with them… earlier issues of this account just said you needed to have had a savings/mortgage account with them for at least 12 months… on 1 June 2024, I definitely did not have a balance anywhere near £100 with Saffron.
with my current Saffron balance of £10.08, I believe I should still qualify in September - i've sent them a secure message to check, but I would be amazed if there were some weird £100 limit to now be enforced to gain access to the account in member's month 2026.

On the subject of Saffron, my RS matured today but I can’t for the life of me find how to withdraw from the ‘easy access’ account. I’m thinking it’s because I can’t just yet? But I can see the funds sitting there in the new account. I’ve tied both app and online!

13th payments
I know Monmouthshire stipulates a maximum balance preventing 13th payments but does anyone know if this is actually enforced (like Skipton) or not enforced? (like Principality)
Additionally - with regards to Teachers BS - I'm calling bs (and I don't mean building society🤣) on any company being able to tell what sort of employment you are (or were) in based on just providing them your NI number.

does it have a nominated account assigned to it?

Re: Saffron - I have just had a reply to my secure message…
As of now, specific requirements for the September Members Month Loyalty Saver have not been confirmed. They will be visible on our website once the product is launched.
You will need to be an existing customer for at least 3 months.
which I would interpret as tallying more with my position, where you only need to have an open savings/mortgage account with them - nothing about membership or maintaining a £100 balance… personally, I won't be increasing my current £10 balance with them.

Saffron
Same for me. I’ve sent a secure message asking for most of the money to be transferred to my nominated account and the balance to a new instant access Saffron account that I opened this morning.
Edit: At c11.00 instructions have now been executed.

AIUI Saffron only allow online external withdrawals from 'E' online accounts. Passbook accounts require you to phone or secure message a request to withdraw to your nominated account.
You can usually do internal transfers though, so a workaround could be to open an online easy-access account that maturity funds can be transferred into, before you then do the external withdrawal.
That said, Saffron's call centre customer service is excellent, so it is probably just as easy to give them a call and ask them to make the payment. If you request it early enough in the day the funds should arrive same-day.

I had one assigned to my RS, but there isn’t even an option to withdraw on the app or online. Or to add a nominated account for that matter…

No idea, but as it stipulates the max amount that can be held in all/any of the Monmouthshire RS accounts at the end of the term, then personally, I'll be sticking to the max stated. Unless my SO's fail to cancel themselves with the preset end date; which I now log next to all my RSs for me to check they have been, as some of them didn't cancel in the past and some funds were duly returned.

I was just thinking about that this morning. Have the £500 & £1000 reg savers both mature on the 28th August I think. I have enough spare cash to make a 13th payment but not sure what to do.
