Octopus Fixed Tariffs 2026

According to Ofgem you will be 'offered' a lower standing charge tariff if you 'meet the requirements' - that reads to me more like you will receive an invitation from Octopus rather than apply for it. We shall see.

We are introducing a lower standing charge tariff pilot which will start in April and last one year. The trial will give customers more choice, especially those who use less energy.
Customers who are with EDF, E.ON, Octopus and British Gas will be offered the new tariff if they meet the requirements.

Emailed just before 8am this morning, now showing in app as requested. Quite happy with that given they are likely busier than usual at the moment. Previous request (to move to Nov 2025 v3) was done in about half an hour via email in the evening. I included in the title to change electric only and in the text quoted the name and unit price of the new tariff, adding at the bottom that I wished to keep the Gas on Nov 2025 v3.

Makes it sound like a social tariff.

Yes, that happened me too and I ended up sending another email to get put back on Variable DD.

also looks like they are tightening up the time between bill being generated and dd taken out of bank, not a problem for me but maybe for otherts

Make more sense if the energy suppliers offered new fix with the April reduction already included but adjusted slightly upwards to reflect it not being available in March, at least everyone would know what they are getting and could make a proper comparison (the reduction will be greater for Octopus than say Fuse, due to the latter not paying for Eco already).

I'm sure Octopus will be offering new fixed tariffs in April. But they will be a different price to what is currently being offered in February (i.e for supply in February./March), and a different price to what a person who agreed a tariff last November will be paying when that fixed tariff is adjusted in April this year.
