Octopus Fixed Tariffs 2026
Comments
-
My fix with Octopus ends 30/09/2026.
Would anyone in my position move to either their 12M fix (£37 per month more) or 18M fix (£28 per month more) or hang fire for the time being, move to their Flexible tariff and re-visit at a later date?
If it helps, my usage is:
Gas: 13563
Electricity: 2481
TIA

18 month fix is no longer available, what tomorrow holds we do not know.

If they dropped that much why didn't you pay the exit fee( assuming there was one) and switch.

Correct.
But what we do know, prices are going up on 1st October and again in January.0 -
Octopus' Low Standing Charge tariff, was available yesterday morning (Weds 26th Aug), as I was doing some calculations in case it was worth having before the depths of winter.
My lovely gas tariff ends on 26Nov26, (unit rates of 4.73p in East Midlands)...but working off historical usage between now and 26th Nov, it wasn't worth having any of the fixes. Will stay with that tariff until it expires, and just put up with the painful price jump then.
(Electric was fixed onto the first low SC tariff, a month or so ago.)

Pretty obvious to me, you get on the blower to Octopus now and explain your current fix ends in a month and you'd like to go on the 12 month August fix from then.
Too late for the 18 month, it's gone.
Same with the 12 month if you don't get on with it.

Blimey things are changing fast!
I only saw the reference from someone on this thread to the 18M fix a couple of days ago and switched to it yesterday evening (the low SC tariff was also still available then).

Because I was stupid and didn't with 2 months to go before fix ended. Then Trump hit Iran with missiles and up the prices shot!
