Octopus Fixed Tariffs 2026

Those following this thread or the others that preceded it, and were using the changes to hedge downwards on exit-free octopus fixes towards the end of last year will have lead to many being on 12 month Fixes ending in November or ending in February, as they were the best two offerings (yes the best from Octopus before someone adds that)
I don't recall the November fix prices but they are available to look up. Perhaps tricky choices ahead as they had no exit fee. I've not done the maths.
Those that fixed on the (fleeting at the time) 12 Month Fixed February 2026 V6 on what now look very low gas and electric prices are fixed for autumn and a good chunk of winter. That was the last really good fix (from Octopus)

my fix ends in November, do I jump now ?

My Gas ends 28th November, at the moment it’s 4.94, getting nervous now as the prices have gone through the roof.

Mine ends one day earlier and is 4.73p/kWh till then. (Octopus 12M Fixed November 2025 v3)
I have no intention of moving away from that rate till the last possible moment.

Comparing Octo fix ending November with a current Fuse gas fix as an example, then right now with low gas usage the Fuse SC being nearly half the Octo SC a new Fuse fix has an advantage.
But looking at previous year gas consumption across Sep, Oct and Nov, the new unit rate being 60% higher more than cancels out that lower SC.
So if rates werent going up then there's a saving in keeping the Octo tariff through to the end of Nov - but assuming current fixed offers will only rise over coming months it is tempting to fix early.
[Edit] With latest Fuse Aug v11 the SC is now just 1/3 of Octo ending in Nov but the v11 unit is slightly up. It can still seem to be cheaper to see out the Octo ending in Nov - but if fixes available over the next few months go up it could be wise to fix early.

@Lorian Yes I jumped on the fix ending Feb27, I’m very grateful for the head’s up you gave.
Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it.0 -
With the new 18 month fix do you have to sign up to both gas and electricity?
Thanks

octopus are usually fine with you just fixing a single fuel.
