Octopus Fixed Tariffs 2026

That didn't last long.
Lets hope it was too good a deal and they withdrew it quick.

Or it was tactical to lock in people reading the news? Locks in for two winters.

It always had a total customer limit so not surprised if it has gone.

I hardly said the opposite.

Not really locked in.
If prices drop dramatically (which never has or will ever happen) £50 per fuel gets you out.
There never has or ever will be cheap energy in this country.

I got the August V5 2 days ago, only to miss the much cheaper August v1 the next day. Now on V6.
Remember you can switch tariffs penalty free during the 14 day cooling period.

Right now, I'm finishing up my Octopus Tracker contract and planning to switch to a new fixed 12-month contract with Octopus today. I can choose when the new contract starts, and I'm thinking about selecting 1st October, the day the new Ofgem rates come into play. If I apply for the contract now, will the quoted price for the 12-month fixed contract still be valid when it kicks in on the 1st October?

There never has or ever will be cheap energy in this country.
In 2018 I was paying just under 10p/kWh for electricity and just over 3p/kWh for gas, with zero standing charge. That was pretty cheap.
The BoE Inflation Calculator thinks prices in general are up ~35% since then, which would be 13.5p/kWh for electricity and 4p/kWh for gas. Roughly half the forthcoming Ofgem cap.
And on my July bill I was charged a composite rate of about 8.2p/kWh for my imported electricity, which also seems quite cheap!

Agreed, I'm not going to post my actual prices again as I appreciate many are facing some steep bills over the next few months, but since 2018, between Octopus Agile, TEP, Go, Go Faster and Intelligent Go I have similarly been paying very little for my energy.
… and it is surprising what you can afford in terms of capital infrastructure investments when you choose not to spend money regularly on other lifestyle choices.

Yes prices do drop. Dropped right at the end of June 2026 and been kicking myself ever since for not switching.
