EDF offer a similar product (no need to agree to a smart meter) [the EDF Simply Tracker Mar27]

The key difference being that the £50 per year per fuel will be deducted from your standing charges, not your unit rates, so you are guaranteed the full discount.

    […]

You just missed out on the MSE exclusive from EDF which was effectively a 15 month version of the above offering £100 saving per fuel per year, plus £70 cashback

    (My bolding.)

They haven't missed out on that quite yet - the EDF Simply Tracker Extra Jun27 is still showing as available on the MSE Cheap Energy Club, and the MSE weekly email states it'll be available until 4pm today (Thursday 5th March). So, a bit over four hours left for those who want to sign up from the time of writing…

(Apols for the sidetrack away from discussion of Octopus fixed tariffs.)

Nov 2025 v3, has not been beaten for me.

    Not even Feb 26 V6.

Folks might think today's rates look bad but they can only get worse.

They're already talking about a 16% increase for the July cap, probably even higher when we get there.

Switched yesterday from Octopus Variable to Fixed March V2, where do you check that they have released newer (more expensive) versions?…

You are correct in what you say, but perhaps not quite in regards to the context of my post.

I was replying to @TH71 . I perhaps misinterpreted what they posted. I understood they had applied for the Eon product. That may be my misunderstanding.

But if they have applied for the Eon product, they will have a switch in progress and so will probably miss out on the EDF offering even if they do get an application in by 5pm today. My guess would be the application would be denied by their existing supplier, because of the other switch being in progress.@TH71

Your post also assumes @TH71 meets the MSE CEC eligibility requirements for the exclusive tariff.

But a good point, well made.

It should assist @TH71 if I misunderstood their post, and will certainly assist others thinking of applying for the Eon offering (and meeting the MSE CEC eligibility requirements)

There are a few of the usual smart tariffs missing aren't there? I'm seeing Go, IOG, Cosy, Tracker & Agile and nothing more.

Pretty sure there was some discussion about that yesterday. It also looks like they're trying to avoid taking on new customers/existing customers switching at the moment - perhaps because they realise it's not a great time to be doing so?

That underlines the differences in rates per area though and why it's important to state the region when quoting pricing - East of England's version of that March V3 fix…
