Octopus Fixed Tariffs 2026

You need to consider how much you will be paying in December, January and February next winter, thats why I say Feb V3 was the best, the odd penny cheaper during the lower use months won't outweigh the extra 3 months protection in my estimation. It's all moot anyway.

Lots of tarrifs are suspended for the moment

Three months time this will probably be all over (ofgem will still go for a massive increase to make up for the money the companies have lost) and those in control of oil will be laughing their heads off, having off-loaded all the confiscated Venezuelan oil at an inflated price.

if you're referring to the new price cap from July, that's not the way it works…

"Three months time this will probably be all over…"
I'd not be so sure of that. There doesn't appear to be any great masterplan at work (instead there's a lot of wishful hopefulness as to what might transpire) - but imagine Iran descends into some sort of chaos (even a civil war of sorts), then will neighbouring LNG producing countries such as Qatar still be under attack, will passage through the Strait of Hormuz be safe etc?
Qatar Energy - which supplies 20% of the world's LNG - shut down its gas liquefaction production yesterday, for at least the next two weeks. When production is restarted, it'll take another two weeks to get back to full capacity.
Since the Ukraine war, continental Europe has weaned itself off Russian gas and in the process become much more reliant on LNG from places such as Qatar and the US.

Indeed. Feb V3 lasted for about two days, during which having 9 months left on a slightly cheaper gas fix looked like plenty.
Some posters rightly say that other tariffs are cheaper, but few here would pay the extra for a no exit fee fix and then stay until the end. A no exit fee fix is a hedge between gambling on a fix with fees vs variable rates. It's only at times like these that we are not mixing and matching through the year.
