    It is.

Someone informed me on another community, this pledge tariff tracks SVR, so when SVR goes up and down it follows it and stay a bit cheaper.

I switched to the Octopus February 2026 v6 no exit fee fix from 25th February thanks to people on this thread. Was previously on the Nov 2025 v3 no exit fee 12 month fix which started for me on 24th December 2025 (as I delayed going on it until the previous fix had ended).

This v6 tariff from February is about £17pa cheaper than this previous v3 based on my dual fuel usage in the North West and extended the end period to 25th February 2027 rather than 24th December 2026 so gets me through next winter.

I've had about 4 of these Octopus no exit fee tariffs since August 2024. They've been really good as a hedge against increasing prices, while giving me the opportunity to switch exit fee free when prices have reduced.

The current March 2026 v3 tariff would be £199pa more expensive and comes with a £150 exit fee. So I expect to remain on my February 2026 v6 for some time.

Just want to say thanks for this really useful thread and to everyone who has kept us updated when Octopus have brought out new fixes.

Well done, you did the optimal switches and demonstrate the no-exit-fee hedge. Given the exit fees on tariffs now the game is off now until rates recover and fees go away, or I suspect actually we get to next Feb, but meantime you have next winter covered.

I switched in to the 12m Feb v6 fix the day before the price cap was announced. I was an existing Octopus customer on existing fixes and the switch actually took place on the day of the price cap announcement.

I have now been told that the prices I have fixed will not change on 1st April. Is this correct? I was expecting a reduction from April 1st.

Who told you that? Log in to your account on the web (not app) and in the first page scroll down to your white tariff boxes and look for a message directly under them.

Just to let you know, there is no "North Midlands region" as far as energy supply goes.

Here is a website that may assist you in identifying the various supply regions.

    https://agilebuddy.uk/tools/region-finder

From the prices you have given, you appear to be within the East Midlands supply region

    From the EonNext website:

"Next Pledge is a 12-month fixed term tracker tariff. Please bear in mind that your energy rates will change when the price cap is reviewed, and bills will vary depending on your usage."

    https://www.eonnext.com/tariffs/next-pledge

    Also worth noting EonNext state:

"You also agree to have a smart meter installed where eligible."

    https://www.eonnext.com/ -> NextPledge -> More details

As per the image you provided, the monthly cost indicated are the prices wef 01-Apr-2026. Before that it is estimated the cost will be about £2.21 per week more (about £9.58 pm) meaning the cost for March 2026 will be about £101.17 (averaged monthly cost)

EDF offer a similar product (no need to agree to a smart meter).

EDF Simply Tracker Mar 27 [EM].jpg

The key difference being that the £50 per year per fuel will be deducted from your standing charges, not your unit rates, so you are guaranteed the full discount.

I calculate the cost for you would currently be only £99.30 pm on average
Prices for this tariff will fall in April, in accordance with the new Price Cap (but still with the same discount)

You just missed out on the MSE exclusive from EDF which was effectively a 15 month version of the above offering £100 saving per fuel per year, plus £70 cashback

Edit: Sorry, off topic for this thread that is to discuss Octopus Fixed tariffs. So perhaps we can all now return to the topic please?

I switched to the 12 month Feb v6 on 25th February which is the day the price cap was announced so a day after you probably. This is what shows on my Octopus account under the tariff

February 2026 V6 may have been the best for electricity, but it certainly wasn't for gas (e.g. November 2025 V3). At least that was the case in my area (Midlands).

I do not dispute what you say you were told, but the content of what you say you were were told was incorrect.
