I've seen reports (historical) of switches failing because DC details were not included when the card was exeunt. It's a function of how the sending bank processes switch requests.bristolleedsfan said:
Wondering what experiences others have of switching bank without DC details as obviously do not want to set direct debits up and then possibly miss L.B switching incentive deadline.
Maybe contact TSB to get the actual status of any card (and the details?).1 -
May affect some folks eligibility.
FAQ on £250 switch offer. What is an active direct debit?
Quote, If the direct debit has been recently set up and the first payment has not been taken this not an active direct debit.
So as active direct debits x3 are required and it’s a relatively short offer period that can also be pulled at any time even stalling the switch date could mean losing the incentive if that date is after the date the offer is pulled?3 -
Yep, part of the fun. If you are setting up new DDs just for this switch then make sure they are likely to pull funds as soon as possible - utilities or the TV Licence due next October won't cut it.Yorkshire_Pud said:May affect some folks eligibility.

I guess a workaround for the direct debit requirement is transfer already active ones that have paid out in the past to the donor account prior to switch date.0

Can you not display card details within the app? (Not currently a customer of TSB myself)bristolleedsfan said:Got TSB account which stopped getting £5 rewards 3 years ago despite me upgrading/downgrading as I do with other TSB accounts.
Debit card mislaid/might be expired, not able to get info re lost card etc section due to either not all account cards loading or "An error has occurred"

I am not able to do apps, have four TSB profiles, profiles with one account load card lost card etc feature, profile with numerous accounts which have themselves numerous history of cards issued mostly show error message when select lost card etc. featuremasonic said:

To be on safe side will have to switch a more useful account out to Lloyds being as I would rather not communicate with TSB.

I think that's just Lloyds definition of an active direct debit. How would they know if a direct debit you have with a different bank has ever been paid?Yorkshire_Pud said:May affect some folks eligibility.

Many times I have done successful bank switches using newly setup (and not yet paid out) direct debits. I just make sure the account I am switching from shows the direct debits in online banking before the switch takes place.0 -
This is an answer Nationwide gave someone, some Banks for example Halifax, DD does show before a payment is taken.
"To qualify for the switch, you would need to bring over 2 active direct debits. This means they need to have been set up and debiting your previous account before bringing them over. A direct debit wont show on your account until the 1st payment has been taken, so if it hasn't debited your current account, it may not get moved over in the switch."2 -

I don't think the DD history gets transferred if you move it to a different account, so this isn't a viable workaround.1 -
You don't need DDs for Halifax Rewards now? Transfer them to your switcher.Clare43 said:
how safe are these quick DD sites ? I’ve not used them before but thinking of trying the Lloyds switch but would need to set up some DD as only account I could use has none at present. Just a bit wary of giving bank details to someone I’ve not heard of before. I know why but it’s a pain they don’t accept switches from Halifax as I’ve got 2 DD on that and could easily set up one more but 3 new ones that quick is a pain 😫there are websites where you can set up DDs which will be much faster than others -0
